If its held here, who gets invited? I know its 16 teams, It would be the best thing that could happen to MLS. Heres how I'd like to see it unfold:

    1. MLS Champion 2003 (Host Nation) New England (USA)
    2. MLS Champion 2004 (Host Nation) LA Galaxy (USA)
    3. Mexican Champion 2003 (Host Nation) Nexaca (Mexico)
    4. Mexican Champion 2004 (Host Nation) Chivas (Mexico)
    5. UEFA Cup Champion 2004 Ajax Amsterdam (Netherlands)
    6. Champions League Champion 2004 Barcelona (Spain)
    7. Italian League Champion 2004 Juventas (Italy)
    8. UEFA Cup Runner Up 2004 Chelsea (England)
    9. Champions League Runner UP 2004 Celtic (Scotland)
    10. South American Champion 2004 Boca Juniors (Argentina)
    11. South American runner Up 2004 Vasca De Gama (Brazil)
    12. Bundesliga Champion 2004 Bayern Munich (Germany)
    13. La Liga Champion 2004 Real Madrid (Spain)
    14. Portuguese Champion 2004 Benfica (Portugal)
    15. Premiership Champion 2004 Arsenal (England)
    16. French Champion 2004 Monaco (France)

That would Make for the following Breakdown:
    2 MLS Squads
    2 Mexican Squads
    10 European teams
    2 south American Champions

One MLS team and one Mexican Team in each Group. The Two Mexican Draws play all games in Mexico, the two MLS Draws play all games in USA.

The venues to be used in the USA.

    New England Revs Bracket
    Gillet (2 games)
    Giant Stadium (2 Games)
    RFK (2 games)

    LA Galaxy Bracket
Home Depot or rose Bowl (2 games)
Seatle Stadium (Seahawks Home) (2 Games)
    Soldier Field (2 Games)

if New england or LA Advance play their 2nd round games at their homes, if not use Cleveland and Philly as homes along with Rose bowl and Pac Bell Park.

The African and Asian federations will applaud the decision to leave them out and will serenade the next FIFA general meeting with songs of joy and praise.

I realize figuring out what FIFA will do is like trying to train a cat, but shouldn't any discussion about the make up of the next Club Championship start with a look at who was supposed to play in the last one before it got cancelled.

I'm pretty sure that it was made up of Confederation Champions. I believe that the Galaxy had one the CONCACAF Champions Cup and were set to go.

I would imagine an 8 team tournament consisting of the six federation champions, plus host nation domestic champion plus UEFA Cup champion.

I outlined a likely setup in the Fire forum earlier. It will be 16 clubs, that much is for sure.

If HDC is going to be used, why not add Frisco, Columbus and potentially Colorado to the list of stadiums.

    HDC
    Columbus
    Dallas
    Colorado(perhaps??)
    Gillette
    RFK

Stadium size? Wouldn't MLS make more money by having the games in the stadiums they control?

Columbus can be enlarged to almost 25,000 which is similar to Frisco and HDC, and they have a nice resume.

If they ever pull this off, the teams are going to be who ever they can get to show up, they'll make up the critea afterwards.
This will not be a World Cup for clubs, it will be a Confederations Cup for clubs, ie half-assed.

It will all depend on the prize money. I think Fifa can make this work...
