I feel sorry for the Brazil fans, but they showed a lot of class yesterday - I understand they were applauding the German NT towards the end of the match.
08. July...actually started my day horrible...horrible rain, stress, I spent 3 hours in the hospital (after my surgery, I was 3 months ill before), I felt not good, pains...it was bad day...but then came Löw and I watched the soccer game against Brasil..it was better as all the medicine I needed to take against all my pains....I felt very good.... and I feel still good....
Yeah this July 08th could be one of those days all people will remember where they were and what they did. Like the Fall of the wall or 09/11.
this is true such a day can make people very happy especially when you are feeling not that so good... I was happy to stay out of hospital that day..I had made a deal with doctors.. perfect day...08. July.... and I hope we will win the world cup now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this is a big factor Lahm was the only match fit holding midfielder Now he has many more options in midfield and has had more time to develop tactics and approaches
Three other factors: The team has now played 6 intensive games together so of course we are seeing a tactical evolution Players have come in to form and pushed for inclusion especially Hummels, Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Schurrle and Klose. Meanwhile other players showed limitations which force changes Finally the tactics of the other team matter. Against Brazil the key battle was on the right flank so critical that Lahm AND Mueller played there. As we saw last night, Argentina don't allow any room to counter at all including down the flanks. So the tactical approach is going to be different again - my guess is that the focus will be on Germany's creative possession game to pick the lock. I guess Loew will press high again to try and force transition in more dangerous zones. Holland sit so deep that the possession that achieved had little value as they had no skillset to play through central areas at all.
Argentina's build up play is very slow can't remember a single counter of them. The German Umschaltspiel will show them.

Verdammt, Mäd'l wo bist du gewesen? Du bist vermisst. Alles gute und eine schnelle Besserung. Hatte ich auch vor kurzem eine Operation. ich weiß, wie Du sich fühlst.
Apparently the old guy with the hat has been at every brazilian WC game since the start of the 90 WC and after the schadenfreude I got from the pics of him being sad, seeing these images of him cheering with germans is really beautiful. That pic of him and the little girl will forever be one of my favorite moments any WC will give us, that's just as beautiful as this game gets. *wipes away a manly tear* Will be rooting really hard for the selaccio against those stinking dutchies in the game for third place! And hopefully they can move forward with the right coach to entegrate Neymar, Oscar, Lucas, Firmino, Willian and Coutinho into the coherent and fluid brazil that people remember nostalgically.
@Rosebud, we need you to inject some sanity into our Argentina match thread, please. People thinking this will be easy, etc.
