Into extra time and Stu Holden talks for 30 seconds about what England need to do in the second half. Then he speaks about what France should do, oh wait, just kidding. He didn’t say shit about what France should do because he’s not even watching France play. The announcers are so England-centric it just keeps reminding me why Americans keep their collective tongue up the arse of England like Pavlov’s dog.
I just want to watch entertaining soccer. And that’s not happening with England. Feel like this ends 2-1 england or 3-0 france with not much middle ground
Consider yourself lucky that Stun Holden only spoke for 30 seconds. Normally, he prattles on about crap for minutes on end. He is a bad soccer commentator.
Horrible decision. The ref waved off the offside and let play continue with four French players in the attacking half, giving England a huge advantage on the play.
I just rewatched the entire play in light of your comment. Excellent decision by the ref to allow play on regarding the offsides. Giroud was offsides but never had possession and England did. Play on was the correct call. If the French players don't want to track back, that is on them. Looking again, it did not appear that there was a French player in the England half five seconds after England recovered possession.
As much as England has been the better side since France scored, I knew this was coming. Good goal by Giroud.
