Boateng likes to try dribbling. We can see he's better on the ball than most defenders but it's still erratic and mostly uncalculated. If he can refine it he will be a pleasure to watch as an attacking threat and finally having someone in defense who can play the ball out.

 What's with chicks digging all these scruffy looking guys as of late? Really ********ing annoying.

    What's annoying abotu that?

Makes more sense imo than all the girls getting crazy for the likes of Kaka or Torres which I never understood.

Exactly my thoughts! ;) Nevertheless, he's still a CB and no FB in my eyes.

Btw: I didn't know that Jansen has got such header qualities either. :)

Pretty entertaining game & solid offensive performance on a rather bad pitch under modest weather conditions. Unfortunately, our defence looked pretty shaky again (even though it isn't directly responsible for the goals we conceded)...

A huge kudos to the team for this impressive comeback after the 1:2 (especially with important players missing), it's good to know that it can finally win after being down (which didn't happen against Serbia & Spain). And it's a huge relieve to have scored the last goal of the tournament on a corner-kick ... a thing I'd almost regarded as a "mission impossible"! :))

Conciliable end of another good World Cup for Germany. Unfortunately, we disappointed against Spain ... but who dared predicting ahead of the tournament (well, I refer to the realists and not the dreamers:) that we'd bash England & Argentina with 4 goals and that we'd be among the "top 3" again despite having a young & unexperienced team and being without the leader Ballack?

Jungs, wird sind stolz auf euch!!

    Ja, das sind wir!!

    They definitely exceeded my expectations.

-I didn't think Klose would do so well, based on his recent Bayern season
-I didn't think Müller would do well in his first Cup, let alone become top goalscorer (as of right now)
-I didn't think Khedira would fill in Ballack's shoes so nicely

Basically, I didn't think this inexperienced team would handle the pressure...but they did!!

    Congratulations to the team! :).

Great to see that they came from behind and managed to win. Even though it was the third place match, Uruguay were motivated to win as well, so it wasn't an easy thing to do.

Great tournment especially from Schweinsteiger, Müller, Özil, Boateng (who rightfully earned his place in the team...), Klose, Friedrich, Lahm...

How old is Friedrich?, could he still play in 2012?.

They didn't look very happy at the end though... especially Özil :(.

A great win for a young German team.

I thought I saw a post saying that KieBling is "out of the team forever". Forgive me if I've misinterpreted anything but didn't he score 21 goals in the BuLig and isn't he one of the younger up and coming players? His shot may have been right at the goalie and the low cross should have been a goal but he did a fine job putting himself in position. Thoughts?

    Entertaining game for sure.

Also did I miss it, or did CBC totally skip the medal ceremony and cut away right after the game finished? I know it's the bronze, but still.

Yeah, here in Canada, it's CBC that has the rights. If you can't broadcast things right, then why do it AT ALL?

Great game, and great finish to the tournament.

    Proud of entire German team.

We may have not made it to the Finals, but at least we gave the best performances of the entire tournament.

I will guarantee everyone that tomorrow's game will result in 1-0 with like 70% ball possession for Spain. I don't know who will win though, that's the funny part.

On a side note... we could do pretty well with the awards...
    Golden Ball- Oezil/Schweini (Long Shot)
Golden Boot- Muller (If neither Villa or Schneider score or assist more than once)
    Yashin(Keeper)- Eh not this one
Best young player- Muller (For sure!)
Fair Play- I think we could be... but it will probably be like Chile or S. Korea...
Most Entertaining- This has to be us right?

Once again Paul the Octopus was correct. It's time we kidnap him and take him to the casino and get our money's worth!:D

I have to question Jogi's lineup but in the end they did enough for the win. Was Klose's back really that bad? We'll never know until his memoirs come out. Aogo is beyond pathetic. Cacau looked lost most of the match.

Other than that, I'm proud we got 3rd considering Adler & Ballack among a few others couldn't make it. Plenty of room to grow and improve for Euro '12 which will be ours.

Muller has been uber impressive for me, He seems to be the best German player for me.

WHenever he gets the ball he makes direct runs at goal and doesnt waste time and chances. When he doesnt have the ball, he hustles very hard to get the ball.

He is always gutted whenever he or a teamate mis a goalscoring chance.

So many times, I thought it was Kaka playing, probably the record Klose missed, Muller might get as he has 3 more world cups in him.

Kiessling was dissappointing on a major finish in the game when he screwed the ball from a good position.

Good tournament for the team, though I would have preferred the go all the way.

Schweini, Friedrich, Ozil Klose and Muller impressed me
