If they can fit it into the Iggles schedule it should be fun, and that would probs be 2 sites for me since the same banter is being waived about GS over in my neck of the woods :)

Id like a france game here or GS as well...actually for you fanatics out there, GS is only 2 hours up the turnpike from philly if you take the whitman and use 195 you can reach that area in 2 hours flat, however if you use 95 and go from trenton to trenton it will take much longer.

and id expect nothing less than DHs

Also, there are weekday matches too, NOT just weekends.

I could imagine Boston, NY, Philly, DC being an east region...

then San Diego, LA, SF, Portland being a west region.

then basically have the east winner play the west winner...

it'll cut down on travel costs...

since the grand final was in LA last time, it would make sense to have it on the east coast this time

Perhaps but they will want to have the final at Home Depot. It's politics. Anyway, I have no problem with the split coasts idea if we are foregoing the Central US idea of mine. France should play here. After all, it was France who helped to liberate Philadelphia from the British.

The rumor I'm hearing, is each of the 4 groups would be based in a different city.

Canada is pushing for Edmonton, so there'd be 3 doubleheaders there.

The other 3 groups would be based in 3 other cities.

I don't know what happens once the elimination phase begins, but I think venue changes for the 4 quarters, the 2 semis and the grand final will occur to add diversity.

The other rumor I hear is Lurie wants and MLS side, and also has interest in the local WUSA side.

    ..sort of a joint venture.

    we shall see.

Have you got a source for that? Could you PM me with it if you aren't willing to put it out here?

As I said this is a rumor...

The Philadelphia Sports Congress has been pushing for the WWC 2003 matches here. Promising 40-50K attendance.

And if you notice all the WOMENS soccer articles recently, in the Inqurier and in the Daily News.

Today, the Hochman piece on Kelly Smith, along with the recent Mike Jensen and Bob Ford pieces in the Inquirer.

The Eagle interest in MLS is clear, as MLS is pursuing them and the Eagles have presented a very friendly soccer front...

again this is NOT court evidence...but there is quite a bit of hearsay...

The rumor I heard about MLS/WUSA would be a partnering of the two at Lincoln, essentially doing double headers. with Murphy running BOTH teams.

    That's the rumor.
