    Mark Watson, former defender for the Charleston Battery, has signed with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

    Damn heard this was in the works and Vancouver was offer much more money. Watson has been solid. Vancouver now have Klein and Watson from us. Hope we can keep a couple players here.

    A return to Vancouver. He played with the team in 1993 and 1995.

    Wicked player but the reality of it is , is that Mark's body isn't what it used to be. He played the majority of the ALeague season and also WC Qualifiers with a torn hamstring.

    His value off the field is just as invaluable on it but as far as the Battery go's ...we are saving some money and also freeing up space on the backline for some younger fresher talent. I'd love to have Mark around this season but since he's not you have to try and see the positives for what they are.
