I'm planning going to Gabrone in Botswana and then visiting Cape Town in South Africa during the end of December, beginning of January. I was wondering if anyone on these boards had any advice on maybe checking out a soccer game or two while I'm there or (I know this may be a long shot) know of any places to find a pick-up game. I figure I'd fit a little soccer fun into my trip if I could. Anyway, any suggestions are apprecited. Peace, JR
Your best bet is to check out the Ajax Cape Town Website. I was there is June and just missed the last game of the season. Cape Town is a lovely, lovely place and you're going to really like it.
hi am erigadio am abrasilian iwould like to join any team their thanks contacts;lugbrighton@yahoo.com
Botswana newspaper http://www.gazette.bw/ The local league began on November 5th, so it looks like you should be able to catch a couple of league games during your trip early next year. The local teams in Garonbe in the first division are: Police XI Township Rollers Notwane FC Mogoditshane Fighters Prisons XI Botswana Defence Force XI You will have a lot of teams to choose from. There is also a four nation international tournament schedule for Garonbe next month. Unfortunately, I am not sure of the dates. The three other nations should all be from the Southern Africa region. Apparently they are looking at Zambia, South Africa and another nation.
