94391 Some interesting data of Gravenberch in this link: https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/op...tical-takeaways-know-liverpools-start-2024-25 All-action Gravenberch Ryan Gravenberch's work on and off the ball from the holding-midfield position he's making his own has been a standout of the Reds' strong start. The 22-year-old is ranking in the top three among Premier League midfielders for possession wins, interceptions and success in duels. And he's proving effective getting the Reds up the pitch, too, with 123 carries of the ball in total (covering 1,294.3 metres in distance). Bruno Guimaraes and Mateo Kovacic are the only midfielders to have more. Elsewhere, Kovacic just edges the Dutchman again in passes made (484 to 476). Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, have been involved in the passing sequences of six goals Liverpool have scored this season – a league high for central midfielders.
Kevin Strootman has retired from football. I didn't know he was still playing. He has been a free agent since leaving Genoa over the summer but had no takers.
94974 Milambo is knocking on the door with striking performances. He got his chance because of long term injury of Stengs and since then has shown his huge potential. Unfortunately he's quite visible in the CL matches for the big money clubs, so .....
Reijnders bounced back after getting “rest” (left the game early due to RC last weekend)… scored two well-placed goals from inside the box. MoTM. Also got his ankle stepped on, resulting in a red card for the offender.
I’m impressed by Reijnders almost every time that I watch him play. Brings great energy and a very high work rate with excellent ability to get forward. Would greatly benefit Oranje if they could play with a faster tempo with proactive running off the ball.
Frenkie comes on to start the second half today wearing the Captain’s Armband helping Barca score 4 times in the second half leading the Blaugrana to a 0-4 demolition over Real Madrid. Great to see Frenkie pulling the strings and running the midfield with his high quality possession play.
Frenkie is probably our only world class player, capable to compete against the best players in the world right now.
Frenkie indeed is World Class, and I would put Virgil and Ake in that category as well. Others are close but there are few World Class players in today’s game in my opinion.
Lang no doubt as well. Just needs to keep a check on his behaviour. The longer they keep ignoring him the more suffering for NT
Lang is not World Class. He certainly has the potential to be a World Class Player, but he plays far too little. Constantly injured, and not productive enough. His mental approach and behavior is a bit concerning also, but until he can consistently play for an extended amount of time and produce he will remain out of that special category.
Streak continues… Reijnders scored again today (4 goals in last 3 games!) v. Real Madrid. Created the goal by keeping the ball against multiple defenders, released Leao and sprinted forward to be the receiving end of a cross. Excellent work ethic! Had another long-distance shot that almost sneaked into the bottom corner.
96916 There are suggestions about Frenkie joining Gravenberch at Liverpool by not extending his contract.
Gravenberch (ball-winning and defending) Reijnders (water-carrier and runner to the box) Frenkie de Jong (architect and attacking playmaker) That's a world-class midfield lineup, baby!! Schouten/Wieffer, Q. Timber and Koopmeiners as options form to bring fresh energy from the bench in the respective positions.
Are you sure about this. He certainly has build up his reputation at Liverpool but it has also to be contributed to the players around him and again he needs to prove himself in NT with upcoming matches and big games. He is defensivly average in the sense that he is not consistent. He often leaves big gaps open when engaged in offensive front and during turn overs. That's is one of his biggest weakness from even ajax days. Also Liverpool is in good form and one good ball the forwards make it count. These are not the case in NT and again it remains to be seen in big games how he fares out under pressure and whether he can handle. In NT especially.
He plays little because its the choice of the coach. That's where he has always clashed with coaches showing disappointment. Go and look back at his performance vs some of the biggest team even when at club brugge. He has stood out. He certainly needs to move to a bigger club and I have feeling the reason why he gets subbed off frequently is for the very reason to not get injured especially with the depth PSV has. I agree on the mental aspect of his but I think bosz has sat down with him and sorted it out which is good.
