Mats Wieffer to Brighton.... nice move! BHA would be one of the EPL clubs to watch for Oranje fans. They already have Verbruggen, who should be playing more regularly, and not be ridiculously rotated like last season by the previous manager. Then, there's CB Jan Paul van Hecke, former Jong Oranje, who's improving fast and can push himself to NT.

Then there's Joel Veltman too :p

Moves from a team that will play CL football to a mid-table EPL team whose best aspiration is Conference League football.

As we unfortunately know an epl conference league playing team pays triple or more than an Eredivisie CL team.
But I don't understand the rush to sign. What's wrong with waiting for a few weeks to see what comes about in this window.

Well, the upside is that you will be playing in a top tier and more competitive league, facing some of the best midfielders in the world, week-in and week-out. You will have a long leash, that means you won’t be frozen out if you make a mistake or two… because your team’s squad is rather small, and budget is tight. Oh, btw, your team have a decent history of developing players and sending them to the next level… including World Cup winner MacAlister and best LB (and hairdo) in this Euro tournament so far Cucurella.

I think there’s a lot to like here. The reality is, unless it’s an uber Eredivisie talent (Frenkie, Gakpo, Xavi) who can challenge minutes right away in an elite club, the tier-down talent would be better off taking the “stepping-stone” move… good developmental time and less risky!!

Koopmeiners is a perfect example, Reijnders seems to be in the same trajectory.

Yes for me, Wieffer move is also great. Eredivisie level is hardly decent so players moving abroad at the right age seems to be a good plan.
Also moving to a top club like Liverpool that was also interested could be a little bit too much. Let them settle in a mid table club for a couple of seasons and then move to a better top team.
Best recent failure example Van de Beek. Even Gakpo was having some difficulties adapting at the beginning, although on his defense, he was being heavily rotated across the attack front.

Xavi will be staying at Leipzig this season on loan. I think this is the best outcome for him  He is playing in a familiar environment and can certainly build from what he did last season (10 goals 15 assists playing in a free-roaming AM role). Leipzing have exciting talents (Openda, Sesko, and EC winner Olmo), and they will be challenging Top 3 in BuLi again while playing in UCL.

And instead of being a smartass about it, you couldve just reposted it

Worrying signals coming out of Barcelona.
It's not going well with Frenkie de Jong's ankle.

His problem is with the syndesmosis and the bad part of that problem is that it can't be fixed with surgery

Frenkie's injury occurred on March 3rd, so earliest he could return is September or October

This article gives a gloomy perspective of the injury.
Given the apparently neglect of the problem by Barcelona('s medical staff), the consequences of this injury can easily put an end to Frenkie's footballing career.

Around 7:09 and further is being spoken about his defensive weaknesses, something I mentioned just before he left for Liverpool.
