  4. FdB is going to think about his Orange coaching job and whether he wants to continue it.

  5. On what do you base that conclusion?

Assistants in general are responsible for the set pieces. That has gone downhill, clearly, both defensively and offensively

Rebuilding is part of the down cycle. You start looking at your youth programs and how they function and try to find previously ignored talent in lower leagues and such.

  9. We have the most micro managed system in the world that reaches down to the kids amateur levels.
We hardly ever miss a talent, so that's not going to solve anything.
When there was a lull in the talent production idiotic pundits began to blast our system as incompetent and need for revamping, until the next wave of talents emerged.
This rambling about our system, while we for decades on end with it stay on par with far bigger countries and outperform many other big ones, is just a sign of people not informed about how the system actually/really works.
The main reason our talents production didnot produce top players like before the 1990ies was the result of the epl clubs robbing our best talents at ages of as low as 12 until there was a stop to it and limited to 16 yo, and doing shit with them. None of them, apart from Ake, ever made it. Since at least the Dutch origin kids decided to stay put, instead falling for the the fast money lure of the epl clubs, we start to produce Orange worthy players again.
It simply is a fact that without a couple of years Eredivisie experience, you're not going to make it.

That is still a down cycle the reason is evident so how do you respond? You retool your recruiting and selection criteria. You do things that smaller nations enjoying success are doing because it is evident that the KNVB have made past success, their weakness. They no longer have that lean and hungry look. They are now well fed and lazy.

    Things to think about trying.
Yousef Poulson of Denmark was in Bundi 3 with RB Leipzig when he got a national team callup cause he was doing so well. 3 years later he is key part of the team and in Bundi 1 with the same team. How many young Dutch players are playing 2nd division in a top 5 league that deserve an invite because they are playing well.

Kyle Bekkerman of the USA was part of the same U17 team as Landon Donovan and DeMarcus Beasley and then he failed to develop. In his late 20s he was a lynchpin 6 for a mid table MLS side that had a really good year so he got called into camp and became first choice 6. What super late bloomer is a key player for Den Haag, Sparta or Hercules that might be a solid player for the MNT but is being overlooked.

You need a coach not scared to call these kind of players into a camp.

Also for a long time your dual nationals program has been playing defense and trying to keep young Dutch players from choosing Morocco, Aruba, etc. It is time to go on the offensive and find some dual nationals in Italy, Germany, France and etc and see if they have what it takes to represent the Orange.

Good thesis overall and fully agree... except you lost me on this sentence. Ake made "it" - really, made what?!? Sandwich for his lunch?:laugh:

Watching the 2 games today, both are excellent games. Coaches made good adjustments, good substitutions, teams fighting spirit, great crosses...none of that seen in Czech game for Oranje.
Whoever the new coach is, please no more escape clause like Koeman-Barca clause. I like Koeman for what he did with Nation Legues and Euro qualifications, but very disappointed in him when he left for Barca. I don't see Barca can win La Liga or Champions League next year with the squad they have so next summer he will be available again.
3 games in September, 01 with Norway, 04 with Montenegro and 07 with Turkey. You either change to a new manager if there is good one now. If not then has to be after those 3 games (if poor results; hopefully it is not too late by then).

Wow.. hope KNVB has the balls to ditch FdB. And truly, truly, I hope KNVB has a replacement lined up. Otherwise this is going to backfire as Oranje would absolutely not need another unmotivated, unskilled “caretaker” (Blind, Lodeweges).

Given the options available, Erik ten Haag is my preference. Decent attacking style, a proven winner, and has international experience (at club). He’s been with Ajax for a good period, so the fact that he’s been rumored to other clubs… I guess that signals his and Ajax willingness to entertain parting ways.

Gutted that Bosz should have waited a month before he signed for Lyon, this Oranje vacancy would have been a nice fit.

Please no more. Failing to qualify is even worse than not advance.

  20. Please do the Orange coach search post in the other thread.
This thread is ment to keep an eye on (the development of new talent) Dutch coaches.

His Majesty Orange14 said this was the place for the talk and Euro was for Euro take unless we are to have a thread just for MNT coach search?

  22. That search thread has been around for a while and specific aimed at the combo Orange Squad/wanted coach regardless of nationality.
We're now polluting the thread ment for keeping an eye on Dutch coaches with posts that have nothing to do with the aim of this thread.
    Keep things where they belong.
    @Orange14
Please move the search posts in here to the appropriate thread.
