Van De Ven's clearance is probably the highlight of the match. I'm happy that he won Europa League (after Koop, De Roon, Hateboer and Bakker won with Atalanta; not counting the old Cup Winner Cup). The goal is not that exciting; the performance of the 2 teams are poor, fitting where they stand in EPL standings. Hopefully the Champions League final's quality will be much better. I feel that Van De Ven should take this opportunity to move to a better club. Even Spurs has Champions League next year I don't see that it can be the top team and competitive next year. This feels more like a lucky win.

Goal by captain De Vrij! Maybe, just maybe, this wins the league for Inter. (Cagliari vs Napoli does not look good so far)
Nice goal by the often mauled and derided Lukaku! Club topscorer and top assister for Napoli! Sadly, the mobsters from the South will win this the maffia club among all maffia clubs.
And so Inter loses it because of an injury time handball in the 37th round (vs Lazio). This profile looks pretty good: https://www.transfermarkt.nl/stefan-de-vrij/leistungsdaten/spieler/111196
I did not know that Denzel Dumfries is named after Denzel Washington (https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_...markable-rise-amateur-soccer-champions-league).
He's quite popular over here My niece was named Denzellia. List of number of kids of the last few years:
Also vs Eintracht Frankfurt https://www.goal.com/en/lists/totte...-final/blt34a93810b1c3055a#cs89d7702023c9f235 Typically, it is his partner Romero who is the official player of the season (while he played fewer games and minutes as Van de Ven) https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleag...024-25-uefa-europa-league-team-of-the-season/ https://fbref.com/en/squads/361ca564/2024-2025/c19/Tottenham-Hotspur-Stats-Europa-League Not okay!
Liverpool have signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. More reason for me to cheer for Liverpool in EPL. I hope Dumfries and De Vrij will win Champions League with Inter. De Ligt is on the trip to Asia with MU who lost to the Asean all starts (although most of the top players did not join as they have World Cup qualification coming up; this is a bunch of players from many countries just come together, no time to gel). De Ligt did not play but what a horrible this club became. The fans made fun of MU that they could not even "save" the season with a friendly cup. Zirkzee is probably on the way out.
139256 Denzel Dumfries in the youth of Smitshoek The amateur years of Champions League finalist Denzel Dumfries: 'He wasn't even the best with us' Denzel Dumfries hopes to win the Champions League with his club Inter on Saturday. It would give his boyhood book story by the 29-year-old Rotterdammer even more shine. The fact that he played in amateur football until he was eighteen makes it even more special.
Best “athletic” footballer in the World. His combination of strength and athletic ability is of the highest order.
Well Dumfries had little chance to shine tonight after tonight’s rampage by the younger and more dynamic PSG youngsters who severely overwhelmed the old and slow Inter Milan who did not play Stefan De Vrij whose lack of pace would not have helped matters very much. Of course Koeman called him up to Oranje for the critical World Cup Qualifiers because why wouldn’t he select a bench player that’s past his best clearly? Just dumb.
Well, sometimes other qualities compensate for age induced lack of pace. According to this: Keeper Former top coach Fabio Capello watched the final from the studio of Sky Sport Italia. There, as an analyst, he highlighted an important part of the tactical plan with which Luis Enrique paralyzed Simone Inzaghi's Inter. 'At Inter, the goalkeeper was the playmaker, but they didn't let him make the play. Dembélé was constantly on his skin. Luis Enrique realized that everything started with the goalkeeper, that he was the one who saw the possibilities. Sommer did not manage to create any danger,' said Capello. Inter was paralized by the tactic of making buildup via the goalie impossible. I don't watch non-Eredivisie clubs, unless they face Dutch clubs in UEFA competitions, so I've no clue about the build up qualities of those CD's in the Inter back line, but Stephan for sure has those qualities with long range passing accuracy and could have been the solution to that Enrique move. It's easy to shield off one player, but it becomes a lot more difficult to shield off two players from building up.
Capello is correct and so are you my friend. De Vrij can indeed play football out of the back better than his teammates. Out of possession it wouldn’t have improved defensively because of his lacking pace just like his teammates either as seen tonight who are also not the fastest themselves.

140212 Van de Ven fastest of the Premier League again, special all-time top four Micky van de Ven can once again call himself the fastest player in the Premier League. The Dutch defender of Tottenham Hotspur recorded a sprint of no less than 37.12 kilometers per hour last season. It is common knowledge that speed is an enormous strength of Van de Ven. At the beginning of 2024, it also turned out that he was the fastest player in the entire Premier League. Last season was no different. He started his monster sprint of 37.12 kilometers per hour against Manchester United. Van de Ven sprinted past Alejandro Garnacho as if he wasn't there and slid the ball over the sideline. Fastest ever EPL sprints:
