A Liverpool fan posted we (=Liverpool fc) should sign half the Orange Squad. Starting to look a bit like that. if rumours are coming true. Might as well give Slot the side job of Orange Squad coach then
He’s one of the best Defenders in the EPL and has been playing RB the past few matches after starting the season at LB. His versatility and overall reading of the game are outstanding.
Tyrell Malacia started today playing the first half and was pretty steady. He was booked for a clumsy foul on Havertz were he just lost his footing. Has been injured for like 18 months so nice to see him recover, and it looks like he will definitely get a chance to play on the left for the new Manager.
Wouter Goes' special statistics: With Wouter Goes in the starting line-up, AZ takes many more points than without him.
What I like about him is the fact he's as nasty as a South American defender. Opponents are complaining to the hilt about how he operates.
123029 Wow, that's a surprise! Amorim reveals Malacia's new starting place at Manchester United. Tyrell Malacia will be in the starting line-up on Thursday when Manchester United takes on Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League. That is what manager Rúben Amorim said at the press conference. Amorim seems to have a lot of confidence in Malacia. After the Dutchman's serious knee injury, he started twice in the starting line-up: both against Arsenal (Premier League) and against FK Bodø/Glimt he played 45 minutes. On Thursday, minutes against Viktoria Plzen will be added.
123197 Mbappé provided Lille with transfer advice: 'Everyone loves Bakker' It was Kylian Mbappé who tipped Lille this summer to sign Mitchel Bakker. The 24-year-old defender from Purmerend is playing this year on a rental basis for the northern French and is making an impression. On Wednesday evening, he was with a goal of value in the Champions League duel with Sturm Graz. Officially, Bakker is still owned by Atalanta Bergamo, which is renting him out this season. A call to Mbappé convinced Lille. Lille chairman Olivier Létang revealed this on Wednesday evening. 'We knew he has a lot of qualities,' said the 52-year-old Frenchman. 'I called Kylian and he told me a lot of good stories about his personality. He said: "Everyone in the dressing room loves him." He's really funny.' Mbappé and Bakker know each other from the two years they played together at Paris Saint-Germain. An intensive conversation also followed with Bakker himself before the transfer. "He got in his car and drove for four and a half hours to spend some time together in Monaco," Létang continued. 'He wanted to understand the project and know what he was getting into.' Right winger In the meantime, coach Bruno Génésio discovers a completely different side of Bakker. Against Sturm Graz, he set up the original left back as a right winger. 'I see all the training sessions and think about them. About possible adjustments I can make. Mitch has good technique, but also fantastic mental strength. He knows no pressure.' 'We thought he could do it and tested it in training. It seemed like an interesting solution to us. And he had Thomas (Meunier, ed.) behind him, they speak the same language. In the end, it went better than we could ever have expected.' Bakker made it 2-0 on the stroke of halftime, after former Heerenveen player Osame Sahraoui had put the home team ahead. Ten minutes before time, Bakker was replaced by Hákon Arnar Haraldsson, who decided the match.
I don’t think anybody would have expected this but Bakker on the Right looks interesting. I did mention earlier on how he is been deployed on the RW. Watched marseille and Lille and and he was good impact coming on HT. Dribbling is not there yet but his positioning, drifting in the middle wing / striker and particularly his crosses looks top notch. Still a long way to go but he is looking promising and his workrate is another thing that stands out roving all over the park. This will be interesting imo and for surely he is making it count in the books of the coaches.
123791 Wouter Goes is appreciated very much at AZ, but with the fans of the opponents of the Alkmaar team, the young central defender is generally not popular. Today, the Eredivisie top club won against another Eredivisie top club, FC Twente, but on the social medium X, there is quite a lot of criticism of the protagonist in this story... 'Wouter Goes is the most annoying player in the Eredivisie' https://www.soccernews.nl/news/eredivisie-heeft-eigen-neymar-klootzak/
vDijk having a horrible game against Spurs "The best defender in Premier league history " Van Dijk has now conceded 15goals this season for Liverpool in 17 gamesBro just gave an assist to Kulusevski to score for Tottenham lmao#TOTLIV pic.twitter.com/0i1H0VzqgL— KWESI PLUG🇬🇭 (@CFC_KwesiPlug) December 22, 2024
Virgil earned 7.5 and 7.6 (out of 10) from the couple rating sites I followed.. statistically he had the most tackles and won the most duels in the match, so I’d say he had a pretty good shift today! That “assist” to Kulusevski was very unlucky for Virgil, he was just trying to get any kind of contact. On the third Spurs goal (Solanke), I think VVD was more suspicious there, he could have been a lot tighter. But in the grand scheme of thing, the game was neatly wrapped in the bag by ‘Pool in the last 15-20 minutes of the match… everybody was already logging out of the office, so I’d give VVD a pass on this
Maybe you're right. He looked really slow on that 3rd goal though, but I guess he was getting lackadaisical since they were already up 3 goals
I use Fotmob app.. if you have the app on your phone, it has the player ratings and all the cool offensive & defensive stats of each player. The website (fotmob.com) is not nearly as comprehensive. They also post news/articles that explain the ratings, like this: https://www.fotmob.com/embed/news/0...ool-player-ratings-reds-romp-thumping-victory
De Ligt is having a horrible game. He got turned inside outby Gakpo for the 1-1, and now he just gave up a penalty for the 2-1
This is probably his worst season in his career, or at least since the first half of 2019-20. Maybe better to not call him up for the time being. Unlucky though; it is better to be Jonathan Tah where at least two times it was admitted that they saved him from the showers (and a red card). De Ligt doesn't have that (nor did VvD in the Nations League, who was red carded).
The Great Maatsen starts for Villa as well. Took a stupid booking and switched off on Arsenal goal allowing his man goal side on the 1-0 for the Gunners. Malen on bench for Villa looking to make his club debut. Young Lamine Bogarde has just come on for Villa.
