@feyenoordsoccerfan - no I didn't forget that one. I was only looking at the top five scorers all time for their greatest goal.

From the top 5 scorers, those 2 really stand out and are memorable. I remember exactly where I watched those 2 goals. Let's hope we have some memorable goals this year and win the WC!

  3. Ah, then it makes sense.
Edit: If one would make a list of the 5 best goals scored in a WC, 3 of them would be Dutch:cool:

I agreed with what one coach's interviews: The guy who scores the big goal is way more important than the guy who score a lot of goals. I hope Depay can change that with this WC as I only remember his goal vs Australia and that's pretty much it.

Speaking of RvP, when he was at his best, he was a sight.

  6. That's not his best goal in the epl. He has one that was almost impossible to hit right as it was delivered from the side at about shoulder hight at the edge of the box but he went airborne and hit the ball in the air while being horizontal.

This one. My Arsenal friend said this was his best.

The final volley on the thread is Van Bastien

  8. Nope, there's a better one. Iirc it was with ManUnited.

Danjumagic scored the winning goal as Villarreal defeated Bayern 1-0! :thumbsup:Nice alert goal deflecting a shot…

Joel piroe has now hit 20 goals, another 2 vs derby in the last game. Two cool finishes. What a debut season it has been for him.

The important question… where is Piroe going to be next season? Swansea have no chance of promotion. Another year in a lower league would be a borefest for him. Almost a similar situation with Danjuma last year (he was with Bournemouth), but was able to “escape” to Villarreal and flourish.

Agree. Piroe needs to move to bigger league/better club and proves like Danjuma did.

Check-in on Oranje attacking squad.... early-April edition (last tallies for end-February above). All club competition matches, excluding NT duties.

Piroe = 19A 4A.. Technically the top Dutch goalgetter (!!), albeit in a lower flight.
Gakpo = 17G 13A.. Steady. Biggest disappointment was not in Oranje (injury).
    Zirkzee = 15G 7A.. 3 goals in last 4 matches after a horrendous February.
Danjuma = 14G 4A.. Disappointing to log 0 mins with Oranje recently.
    Berghuis = 11G 9A.. Closing in on a double-double!
Memphis = 10G 2A.. Rough spell at the club, but still the lead dog for LVG!
Weghorst = 8G 3A.. No goals or assists since Feb 19th.
Malen = 9G 3A.. Just a single goal in the last month or so. Not good enough.
Lang = 8G 12A... Not much production as of late.
Luuk de Jong = 7G... Pinchitter!! Proven match winner.
Bergwijn = 4G 1A... Benchwarmer at Spurs, but big goals for Oranje. Go figure.
    J. Kluivert = 3G 4A... One assist in past month to show.

I watched Danjuma against Bayern Munich and I have to say he’s a handful with his movement and skillful touches.
Incredibly frustrating that he did not play for Oranje recently.
His excellent form is having him linked to bigger clubs.
Very interested to see his continuing development.

Memphis was out the last 2 Barca matches because of injury.
He must be very unhappy with his bad luck and the current dilemma which is not starting.
I firmly believe he is a better player then the current Barca attackers but Xavi does not seem to be a fan of Memphis.

He didn't do much, had one half chance and then subbed off in the 2nd half.

And… his sub scored a cheeky goal on his possibly second or third (?) touch :p Proved to be a precious goal.

Danjuma with another 2 goals. With Memphis not doing well, Bergwjin not playing much, 1 of these 2 should be on the bench unless they play very well in NL. Danjuma should starts considering his form.

No playing time for Memphis today against Real Sociedad.
    Frenkie looked pretty good
Outrageous situation for Memphis who I believe is a better player then Auba, Dembele, and Ferran Torres.
He needs to move on, but where? Perhaps Milan, or Juventus?

He should move to Ajax. who can then sell on Haller for big money.

Like Koeman (but not like Stam, Reizinger or Kluivert...in the twilight...both PSV and Ajax...)? Not sure if he will do that. Maybe Italy or France again. For sure Memphis and LDJ are not in Xavi's plan. Even FDJ may not 100% sure to be in Xavi's plan but FDJ is world class so I'm sure other clubs will love to have FDJ if Barca let him go.

  24. Nah, Memphis is a PSV man. If he comes to the Eredivisie, it's gonna be there.

Huge opportunity for Danjuma today to shine… up against his country captain, and one of the best CD’s in today’s game, Virgil. And at the biggest stage in European football!!
