I wish it were Castrillon or Valencia or one of our other up and coming players that have a spine!

That said, always good to have our players abroad.

Yep! That's where he gained like 20 pounds of muscle and became unstoppable...

Other examples are Adebayor of Arsenal and Drogba of Chelsea that used the French Ligue as an opp to show off their skills. Renteria is doing all the right things...

Without even considering the French players, and just about the G14 clubs, Maicon, Marquez, Edmilson, Yaya Touré, Tiago, Riise, Momo Sissoko, Sektioui, Heinze, Diarra, Saviola played in France.

With Chelsea, add Petr Cech, Essien and Drogba.

    The Associated Press

    PARIS --

The often horrible translation from google helps us understand....

!Des emissary of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich was present, Saturday, in Meinau for the Strasbourg-Rennes meeting. If one is unaware of which players were supervised in particular, one knows that it acted of Of Strasbourg and not of Of Rennes. There is extremely to bet that it acted of the French defender Bellaïd and the Colombian attacker Wason Rentéria.

o feck thats good news. hopefully this will raise his profile more before the transfer window! but going to Real would be bad coz they already havea shitload of strikers : ruud, robinho, SAVIOLA(barely plays), higuain etc.... but if he could get bought and then loaned out to another team in spain like they did with eto then it would be beneficial for him to move there.

agreed !!! please dont go to real

    lets think about this

Raul captain, wont be benched for god
    Van listoroy scores like crazy
Higuain they think the kid is the next zidane and paid 30 million for him
Saviloa amazing striker gets no shot
they have a young spanish stirker who was one of the top scores last season think his name is tolmodo or something like that

AWFUL the kid will get lost and all u guys can be happy we have a guy at Real... REal only starts famous players that will sell them shirts they can care less about winning

o yea they just spent over 150 million on players and only 1 of them actually plays.... awesome to say we have a striker there, but ************ to never have him play burn him out and not have any strikers

Gotta agree with Crazy on this one, Real are masters of spending big cash just to have the players play for their reserves. Thing is we are always hearing this about oh L.A.Perrea to Milan, Wasson to Real Madrid, Chitiva to Chelsea none of this ever goes through

I heard that one too - but only from Efer.

I kinda like Wason where he is - he seems to be flourishing with Strasbourg.

He should stay in Strasbourg. He's their top goal scorer and is top 10 in the league.

There's no money in France to buy strikers. That's why he's only on loan.

    L'Alsace

Coach Furlan is very exacting with Renteria. Sévère-mais-juste. He wants to exploit better his great potential. Renteria comprehends it. Strasbourg luckily has an excellent, underestimated coach.

    Thanks for the update, Catel.

This is what makes Renteria's situation in Strasbourg such a paradox - it's proving to be a great shop window for him to go onto a bigger team or get a better shot at starting with Porto, but considering how much the fans and coaching staff their like him, there is a strong argument for why it'd make a lot of sense for him to stay there and play consistent minutes in a great league while being a hero.

Even if he would stay in France, Strasbourg wouldn't be the good choice. It's a small club that goes backwards and forwards in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. ;) An established but not too big club would be better. Such as Lens in France, Leverkusen in Germany or Osasuna in Spain.
