http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7610-2002Jul26.html Hudson on Gazza: "It's the seduction of Gascoigne, it's the promise of magic," he said. "You may be reaching into the fire, but it may be worth it."
It's incredible that Ray Hudson has the kind of reputation that attracts Gazza. United and MLS were alledgedly the lead story on Fox Sports World. He may turn out to be a flop but Hudson is absolutely right that this league needs to try new things and shake things up. I am no fan of the "Buy an Aged Superstar on His Way Out of the Game" but this appears to be worth a shot. Not sure I'd sign a year and a half agreement though- why not sign him for the remainder of the season and see what happens?
I got the printed version today and it has a nice color picture of him on the lower left corner of the front page of the sports. It also has a picture of Gazza putting a move on Ivan on page 3 (Gazza like a true soccer star sure knows who to put the move on! ). In that same picture Ray Hudson looks on at the proceedings very intensely. Gazza mania has indeed hit the nation's Capital!
