In addition to the new professional team, the Spirit are promising to have "a team or training program at every level of the game, from 8-years old to professionals". That includes a W-League team and a USL Super-20 team, both of which are holding tryouts this Sunday (the 16th) at the Maryland Soccerplex. Talked with GM Chris Hummer today, and he said he expects to have a really good W-League team. He also said that it will be a genuine reserve team for the pro squad - if they become shorthanded due to NT callups, they can sign (non-NCAA) W-League players to one game contracts and have them play for the pro team.
