All the pre-match posters seem to assume McKinley will be playing. If I were Ray I'm not sure I would risk it, not only because he would want to spare someone he thinks highly of but because he has to wonder how forcefully ITT would or could play. Would he throw his body around? Would he go in strongly on tackles and 50-50 balls? With his lack of pace he has to resort to the slide tackle more than most because the attacker is steaming past him. Thinking of a replacement shows how thin we are on the back line.
Well, McKinley was brought in to be a sub, and he's played a LOT more minutes than intended this season. We need subs right now, but I don't know if it's worth risking someone's career to get out of the basement with a slim chance of reaching the playoffs. Good point, we may not see him at all, if not, it's open season on the young guns, because if they cannot win this game, then they're too green to carry this team next season. Obviously (to almost everyone but sormun) Convey's roster spot is safe, but Lazo, Chino, Namoff and Curtis need to take advantage of this opportunity. I would think Eliseo's spot is safe as well, but I'm not sure, and many opportunities may rear their heads in the offseason, so who knows. Let's win this one guys! -Tron
I would say Namoff took advantage of the opening rather well. I was somewhat relieved when I saw that Ivan wasn't dressed for pre-game warm-ups.
