When ? Where ? Platini admired him but he saw him as his equal, his main rival. In his mind, Pelé and Cruyff were above him.
I saw Michel Platini speaking about ..the Talent ...of Diego so many many time s he said this about Talent and pure skill, no one came close to Maradona he controlled the ball with golf ball with marble with oranges with grapes But not necessarily the most complete player of all times or the best " better '" player in the World ... he prefers ... Cruyff and Pelé ... etc ..
At one hand it's you who has value for impact only and utter dislike for trophies.on the other hand there is carlito who is the reverse.here are two of you with opposite philosophy funnyly opposing me at the same time.i am yet to understand the points of both.
Duh..schuster played 8 years for barcelona with six trophies and among those six, 2 of them when maradona played with him.maradona played 58 matches for them and schuster over 200.learn some math first then try and talk football.
Maradona played one year for boca and made them through to libertadores.if he played there for 10 years he would have won a number of trophies.your point is once again totally invalid.
He played for boca more than one year where is your knowledge dear fanboy? you realise he had two stints there Forgotten because he was ‘past it’(35 years old same age Messi won the World Cup) the full picture is Boca won the Copa libertadores shortly before he joined(1978) and shortly after he left (2000) Maradona never played one game in this competition Barcelona won a European trophy the season before Maradona joined(Cup winner’s cup in 1981/82) And the La liga title the season after Maradona left(1984/85) Again Maradona never achieved any of those things for Barcelona The also made the European cup final two years after Maradona left(1985/86)and of course Maradona was a demonstrable failure in the European competitions playing for Barcelona vs competitive teams This the same age as Messi here(23) If I snorted cocaine for 10 years I may just begin to believe I was Che Guevara. Talking about “bans and moderators” All what if/hypothetical scenarios should be banned on this thread.
I have no dislike for trophies, it is simply impossible to make a comparison between Krol and Maradona in Naples based on the trophies won, always for the same reasons already repeated many times. 1980/81 season: Ruud Krol arrived in Naples at the age of 31, a team that the previous year had finished in tenth place, the following year with him on the pitch finished third and fought for the scudetto throughout season. Ratings: 6.93 1981/82 season: In Krol's second year, Naples' reinforcements are: Palanca and Criscimanni, names not exactly of great importance, Napoli plays a good season and finishes fourth with 35 points. Ratings: 6.91 The following two seasons began a decline for Krol, partly due to age and partly due to ongoing physical problems, he would no longer be able to give 100% but it was completely normal given that he was now 33 years old and at his best he had given it and it is no coincidence that Napoli plays two disastrous seasons, once again you should understand what impact Krol had on this team. Season 84/85: Diego Maradona arrives in Naples at the age of 24, in a team that had finished in eleventh place, with him on the pitch they finished eighth. Krol's impact in his first year is definitely greater than that of Maradona. Ratings: 6.90 Season 85/86: Second year of Maradona, the reinforcements are: Garella, Pecci, Renica, Giordano and also the young Ciro Ferrara makes his debut, Napoli ranks third with 39 points thanks also to a much strengthened team. Ratings: 6.62 Season 86/87: Maradona's third year, the first championship in the history of Napoli arrives and they move again significantly on the market, purchasing: De Napoli, Carnevale, Volpecina and Romano. Ratings: 6.48. Tell me how I can compare the team with which Maradona won, with the team where Krol played. Since Maradona's arrival, Napoli has strengthened a lot to reach the first scudetto in their history, with the Dutchman they remain a modest team that absolutely cannot aspire to the final victory. Yet even from the ratings, it is clear that Krol's impact was absolutely extraordinary in his first two years, so much so that it was superior to Maradona himself.
Everytime you write an essay about your no comparison.you start comparing them all over again and finish the comment at the same old point(or no point).this is truly tiresome and this time you have again resorted to ratings between a playmaking forward and a defender.pointless.
Btw where was pele at 35 years of age?more than that what has your boy cronaldo done at the world cup and euro at that age?
I am an argentina and messi fan and truly happy ,content and obliged for what messi has been doing in the last few years.
I agree with you dear mate here at the moment ... Messi is to be compared with Edson Arantes Pelé ... Johan Cruyff .. Alfredo Di Stefano .... Ferenc Puskas .... C. Ronaldo ... Maradona is to be compared with Michel Platini, Zico , Ruud Gullit, Franz Beckenbauer , Paulo Roberto Falcão, Marco Van Basten, Ronaldo Nazario , Romário , Sandor Kocsis , Gerd Muller , Lothar Matthaus , Rummenigge ..Paolo Rossi ... Mané Garrincha
Some of those names i definitely can’t agree with(under no circumstances) but each to their own. As for a top 10(one that I will 100% stick to ) I don’t have it Maybe a top 6(in no specific order) With Lionel Messi,Pele,Ferenc Puskás ,Cristiano Ronaldo,Johan Cruyff and Zico I think I like to watch Zico more than any other player but that is more of a recent thing
Can I ask you and all other people in this forum to report posts you believe require the attention of the moderator. I’m not going through all the threads here looking for things.
yes .... Zico ... was a super Genius of the Football as well 771 matches 517 goals 270 assists 0, 67 % goals 0, 35 % assists he reminds me ... on Lionel Messi ... Johan Cruyff .... Michel Platini the him Style Of Play ....
in the Group group B yours you will choice right now Top 7 until Top 15 the History of The Football Who is there for you ??? Group B or Top 7 until Top 15 ????
Zico was a player of ups and downs. Zico's 1978 World Cup was very bad. He had 25 and was healthy. The '82 World Cup was very good. His first season at Udinese was excellent, the highest rating in the Gazzetta dello Sport, ahead of Platini, his second season very bad, 16 matches, 3 goals, 3 assists.
yes ... i agree with you dear mate ! The best brazilian player Of all times was .... by so far away Edson Arantes Pelé the first and the only one in the World ... Tackles Won per 90 minutes interceptions Duels Won Marking defensive covers Goalkeeper Skills JUmping reach Headers Won
Just my perspective; Of course Maradona is much better than Krol as a player. I never implied otherwise. I don't have particularly warm feelings for Krol. It is just that waving with all those average match ratings do not prove anything. Maradona his average ratings are not better than an (ageing) Krol, also captain and star foreigner, or other Napoli stars before him (it is not even better as Gullit in 1993-94, who attained a higher league finish). Those are even ahead in DBSCALCIO. Maradona shot journalists with a rifle and intimidated them. Cars of journalists became destroyed after a poor grade. The funny thing is Krol is not that highly regarded anyway. As usual with our players, he gets put below people as Scirea, Moore, Passarella, Figueroa, even Santamaria. Basically, almost every football country you can think of (except Portugal, maybe Brazil, in terms of 'classic defenders'). Then the partners in crime of Cox (read by hundreds of thousands; the same one who constantly placed e.g. Robben in a certain frame of diver and one trick pony) and the self-designated "complete historian" with the fake objectivity, the non-answering of questions (Campbell, Southall, lol) quite incorrectly frame him as an unusually nasty player that has no base in the displinary record or so (in the very same piece as the 'anglo-german alliance' 100% lie Cruijff had only one dribble goal, 100% false but nonetheless influential and repeated more than once). This gets pumped around in the self-referential "knowledgeable" circle, referring and referencing to each other as "real historians", and it becomes truth. We are the bank account (bumped down further from an already low starting position) for the further glory of the cartel players. They can do this because there is no market, big league or fanbase. To frame it different: with Baresi, Figueroa, Moore there Napoli had become champions! Or Santamaria perhaps (less clear that he usually gets placed higher)
