He is considered the greatest player to ever play the game from team mates such as Bobby Charlton, Bill Foulkes, Wilf Mcguinness, Stanley Mathews and Tommy Docherty. Why was he held in such high esteem?. Has anybody here ever seen him play?. Was he perhaps overrated because he died so young?
People have seen him play several times and he won 18 England caps before he was 22. He was bossing it before he passed away. For God's sake there's videos of him on YouTube. Please stop posting these opinion threads.
There is very limited footage of him on youtube . There is only one full match of him and he is playing as a defender for nearly 80 minutes of the entire match. So you don't get to see his legendary midfield play . What's wrong with inquiring about a footballing legend?.
I am trying to find out about a player who many who have seen him and played with him consider to be the greatest player of all time and what it is that made him so special
Many players described him as incredible and a force for being so young. Bobby Charlton said that Edwards was the only player that made him feel inferior. That's saying something. Look up stuff like that.
Impossible to tell how good he was, and you can't take the word of those who saw him with their own eyes. People are always overrated when they die young, just imagine if Rooney had passed away after the 2004 tournament. Everyone would go on about how he'd be on level with Pele
Youre not going to find enough video fotage or people with first hand fan experience to asnwer that question. Take the word of his colleagues. I don't think anyone apart from Edwards has ever made the top 3 man list for a Ballon D'or as a 20/21 year old.
