Good point! The over reaction of some these poster kills me when it comes to Jack Warner. Yea he may be corrupted but he learned it from the biggest Crooks on the Planet from the good ole' USA. see(BUSH& company,BUSH II,NIXON etc. Maybe we should let them be president of concacaf.

What the hell do Bush and Nixon have to do with Jack Warner? Seriously, do you think at all before you post?

We have enough trouble keeping people ontopic here.

Let's just drop the non-soccer related politics or I'll ship you all off the the politics forum!

Well, I will start that the "re-election" (if you can even call this crap an election) is more of the same sh¡t, different day sort of thing.

We want to advance our confederation but until we do a REAL spring clean-up, we are going to be stuck with a mediocre level of football compared to South America and Europe.

I won't comment on the corruption, but it'll be hard for CONCACrap to compete with South America and Europe.

Europe has two dozen good sized soccer crazy countries that have competed in the World Cup. South America has 10 good sized soccer crazy countries, 9 of which have competed at the World Cup. CONCACAF has three large countries, Central America, and the Caribbean - which except for Costa Rica have not competed in the World Cup more than once.

We just don't have the structure to be a powerhouse confederation. We now have a Champions League, but except for Mexico, our league play is not that powerful.

As much stick as Warner deservedly gets, and as much pain as this will cause me:

CONCACAF is better under Warner than it was before.

    1. We actually have a rational (mostly) Confederation Championship in the Gold Cup. Before that, it was a six-team round robin in a single site (mostly)

    2. We had a pretty decent Champions Cup struture and now have a still-evolving Champions League.

    3. The level of play in CONCACAF has risen tremendously, even as the US and Mexico have distanced themselves from the pack.

They also have tradition (they've both been playing since the 19th century.) Out of our three biggest countries, two have the game ranked behind several other major sports, and Mexico just doesn't have the amount of passion UEFA or CONMEBOL has. Most Central American/Caribbean nations have too much internal unrest to get their act together, similar to the the Eastern bloc countries, who also lag behind Western Europe in football and everything else.

Our confederation will grow eventually, it'll just take some time. Mexico and the US could hold their own against pretty much any non-UEFA/CONMEBOL team.

For me I believe in one vote for each federation and would like for France
to include Guadeloupe ,Martinique and French Guyana to make decisions
in Concacaf . For next world cup Qualifier(2012) I would love to see Francaphone referees. I think warner is very bias and the rest of Concacaf
follows ...at the same time a costa rican like hernan Medford in years to come
could be President of Concacaf ... The costa ricans could capture valuable
central american and caribbean votes .
