Hmm... it depends what mood I'm in. Usually some Rammstein gets you nicely fired up, but then if I'm in a silly mood the Rocky soundtrack and maybe Macho Man (Village People) can do the trick.

It's probably a big personal preference thing but generally I'd go for some Metallica or some Dream Theater or something like that, something powerful to get you worked up. I think the Rush, Genesis and Yes records will have to be put aside for now ;)

    Cool post btw.

my Junior year, one of the wiseass captains decided it would be a good idea to blast "We will rock you" whiel walking onto the field to warm up for a state championship game..

We got rocked, 5-0, and we managed on 2 shots on their goal.

    not a good idea....

eminem - lose yourself (even though I hate rap)
the Used - take it away (had to get that one in from my hometown band)
rage against the machine - wake up

and if you lose, I like
anything by rage against the machine
ben folds five - rockin the suburbs (not a great song, but there's a part in it that says "It gets me real pissed of and makes me wanna say... then this guy yells, for like 30 seconds "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*************************" its awesome

American mainstream hip hop is horrible for the most part.

Now stuff like Talib Kweli, Mos Def, The Roots, and some International hip hop is really good.

    And let's not forget reggaeton.

Either some Tone Loc or Linkin Park get me going pretty good. Anything by Maxwell probably wouldn't be a good choice. :)
