It seems inevitable that in the last century+ any time there is a planned attack, some of the planning takes place by using wargames. And it is inevitable that the participants in the wargame figure out some quirk that the enemy will use to gain an advanage, which the game judges then disallow as unfair. Then when the real war starts, the real enemy uses that real quirk, and the attacker ends up with his pants down. You would think that generals would learn from this. Well, guess what.
