The White House said today that war with Iraq should only cost $50-60 billion instead of the many hundreds of billions claimed before. Congressional Democrats said that it would be closer to $90 billion, but in any case this is a severe reduction in the estimate. It is also very precise, which seems to indicate that they actually have a plan written up - a plan in line with White House ideas for a quick, unconventional strike as opposed to the slow overpowering invasion prefered by the military.

Oh, and don't worry about Bush not acting to help the economy. Invading Iraq will help our economy because if Iraq were to attack first, it would totally crippling. Gotta love that logic.

You don't have a real sense of economics do you? You can't just print all the money you want, it does have an impact on the economy you know.

Let's hope so. Because it sure isn't doing much to help the strength of the dollar:

"The euro has ended its first year as a cash currency at its highest level for more than three years, as fears of a US war against Iraq undermine the dollar.

One year after Europeans handled their first notes and coins, the euro climbed from $0.8899 on 1 January to reach $1.050 at 1159 GMT."

I saw that and thought, sweet Jesus, has he had a nervous breakdown or something?

In the paper, the writer implied that Bush was very snippy when he made this argument. I didn't see it on TV, so I can't judge.

Asymmetrical warfare blow out sale going CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. NO more costly million dollar bombs to hit Saddam's royal bathhouse for the 4th time when we can do it for less than the cost of Honda Accord!
