How it all started... Frank Costanza: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way. Cosmo Kramer: What happened to the doll? Frank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born... a Festivus for the rest of us! Cosmo Kramer: That must have been some kind of doll. Frank Costanza: She was.
I was reading an old book a while back. George Carlin’s “When will a Jesus bring the Pork Chops”. This was one of his forwarding pieces.
There should be secular canonization so we can make George Carlin something akin to a Saint. He deserves it.
This is honestly the perfect Rockefeller Center Christmas tree for 2020. Embrace the decay. https://t.co/03bZeOWvBa— brandonstosuy (@brandonstosuy) November 18, 2020
Tiny owl rescued from Rockefeller Center Christmas tree that traveled 170 miles to NYC https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...r-christmas-tree-travelled-170-miles-n1248166 I have no idea if this tiny owl is for or against Christmas, but I will follow it into battle
I was wondering about this. Most of the houses that are decorated right now have gone straight to Christmas from their Holloween decorations, completely skipping Thanksgiving. I'm trying to figure out if this is a local thing, or (as you suggest) if it's more widespread. Now I wonder what's going on.
I have a neighbor that has had Christmas decorations up for at least 2 weeks if not longer. I doubt it's a local thing.
I think they’re getting them out early because they are stuck at home and want to do it before the snow and super-cold weather come in.
Yeah, lots more activity than usual in my neighborhood, too. I'll try and get a jump start on hanging lights outside over the Thanksgiving week. As long as it doesn't affect the heavy drinking I have planned.
With Thanksgiving being a top 3 'Merican holiday that is just wrong. I can funnel the home-made cranberry sauce. Here's how they harvest the liddle buggers As we gear up for our socially distanced Thanksgivings, @LLBiggers headed to a cranberry bog to find out if everyone’s favorite Turkey Day condiment is good for the climate pic.twitter.com/SdKEexWf9w— NowThis Impact (@nowthisimpact) November 16, 2020
I turned on the radio station today, Christmas songs. A week and a day from now, I'll allow it. I'm a field general in the War on Christmas. It's a mostly defensive struggle trying to keep the holiday from taking up the entire Calendar. We're the rebels and we're mostly losing.
Based on comments I've heard from my co-workers, the reason for the early decorating is to just try and get that Christmas spirit/happiness going.
