Okay guys. I went up to UCO to go take some pics of Wantland today.

The field is looking very nice after the initial field renovations and drainage system went in.

I'd guess by looking at it, that the field dimensions are about 85-90yds across and 130yds long. You could easily place a nice 75x120yd playing area on there and have plenty of field left all around the edges.

The field is also very level.

Sorry about the chain link fence in some of the pics. The stadium was locked up. The ones w/o the fence was when I could stick the camera through on opening.

You can see on the south end where they've built it up to put seats, et al.

I also haven't had time to resize these so they are very big files.

Wow, thanks for talking without knowing what you're talking about. The stadium you see isn't going to be the stadium that will be there for a MLS team.

UCO is going to completely renovate, which means pretty much raze the existing stadium and build a new one.

If you want, you can do a little homework and not make a jack ass of yourself next time.

The pitch is going to be the only thing that remains.

This will be the renovated stadium.

YES! THEY ARE GOING TO RAZE IT A BUILD A NEW ONE. LOOK AT THE IMAGE OF THE STADIUM THEY'RE GOING TO BUILD.

Sorry for the shouting. I just pretty much took the pics to show the pitch conditions, which are excellent. All other stuff you see will be replaced by a 20,000+ stadium, bi-level along the sidelines, with a bit of a roof and luxury boxes and jumbotron score board. Does that sound like a high school stadium to anyone?

Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

What kind of surface is that?
    Astro Play or Field Turf.
and are the football lines permanent?

Currently it's field turf. However, I've learned that should OKC get a team, they'll either keep the field turf or replace it with real grass depending on what MLS wants.

No, that's not a high school in the background, it's the Broncho Apartments, a large complex populated primarily by UCO students, including a lot of foreign students.
It's a great location, UCO's a very good school and Edmond is going to be a terrific home for an MLS club.
Might try checking your facts before spouting off, Mac.

Hey there Daddo. I wish people outside of Okla. new what kind of a town Edmond is. It's very nice, pretty, well landscaped and just has a feel of this is the kind of place you'd go see a soccer match in if your were in a smaller english town or in germany.

It's not going to be a stadium with a massive parking lot all around it. There no room. It's going to be like going to a college football game. You going to park in people lawns and in neighborhoods and walk to the stadium. It's all very intimate.

Just a question with all the negative stuff being said about Cleveland right now.....how is the stadium looking now and/or has there been any recent photos?

Those are the pictures from early December.

Renovations aren't going to start until we know whether there's going to be a MLS team or not because that will determine the scope.

Right now, there are two plans. Plan 'A' is just renovating the stadium to about 10K with minimal amenities only for football if there's no MLS team.

Plan 'B' is 20K+ with all the amenities is there is a MLS team.

Phase I of the renovations is already complete with the new, state-of-the-art pitch that's larger than international regulation size with modern drainage system and a very, very flat playing surface.

Phase II is knocking down the stands on the one side and building new ones along with new stands in the south end and the east side. Both east and west stands will be bi-level with roofs and the stadium will be 'U'-shaped.

Obviously, there a large price difference between 10K and 20K+ (in addition to the pro-level amenities), so before they start building, they want to know who they're building it for.

That turf looks gorgeous. I've been pulling for OKC since the first mention, and I'd much rather they be in MLS then Cleveland.

    Good luck.

The little problems you have are nothing to that in Gelsenkirchen (Schalke 04).
I want to buy cards for any game, but it's difficult, cause they are always selled out (61.230 visitors only find place there).

Since we're updating the site, all the pictures are down right now. Hopefully this will be remedied soon.
