Congratulations to Abby and all of the other winners! I am not surprised by the fact that Abby got the award. I was going to be a little upset if someone else got it. She was the only one with real qualifications for the specific award.

Abby was the only correct choice on that list.

First - how does Krikorian get coach of the year over McDermott? Philly sucked down the stretch (not even counting the playoff game) and most pundits picked Carolina to finish lower than Philly.

Next - Luckenbill over Moore and Mullinix? How Mullinix wasn't even nominated is one of the great mysteries and Moore had a more solid year than Luckenbill, even when the Philly D is factored out.

Most Ridiculous - Katia goal of the year - all ballot box stuffing. Last night, Bai Jie was 15% ahead of Katia, and Katia was dead last a few days ago. League was stupid letting an award be determined by internet vote and probably won't let that happen again. Some Brazilian must have had a lot of time on their hands...

So now we have 4 or 5 Freedom who have gotten screwed for individual awards (or at least nominations). As long as they win the one title that matters I guess...

I'm happy to see that Wambach has done good in the WUSA. I watched just about every home game she played for the Gators in the last 2 years at UF and I could see she had it in her, even though she sometimes annoyed me and everyone else by not working hard enough or by Missing easy chances. When she was on her game, however, she was unstoppable.

    Way to go Abby!
