I think that should be the link to the article. You do however have to be a member to read it. Although it was published in the Sunday Edition of the Honolulu Advertiser. So maybe a few other local papers might have run it as well.

Here is a quick sum up. Some of this information is also availible online, elsewhere, but here are the highlights of this paticular article.

*No advertiser has officially signed on yet, but many teams have begun negotiations. LA Galaxy is close to signing a multi-mullion dollar deal.

*Players make on average 90,000 (including bonuses)

*TV Revenue from ESPN, FSC, Univsion ~$20,000,000

*Adds found on the back of team jersies come from league negotiated ad buys, ads on the front will be done through teams themselves.

*Front Jersey ads start at $500,000 (the league takes a flat fee of $200,000 per team)

*Commisioner can reject deals. Will not allow Hard Liquor or Internet Casinos or apperently Bail Bondsmen in Colombus to be on the front of jersies.

*Red Bull and Chivas have been most responsible for the push to allow advertising, as RBNY got special persmission from board of governors to use their logo on the front of jersies this season, and Chivas has had advertisers inquiring about sponsorship since their Mexican counterpart also started selling jersey ads.

*AEG is quoted as saying they don't think ads will alienate fans, because mostare already used to seeing ads on teams in other countries.

Sorry if this is elsewhere. Wish I could post the whole article, really shines a great light on MLS... and doesn't mention the leaked attendence report at all when talking about sponsors and stadia and such.
