I just saw the list on the MLS website and Bob chose not to waive anyone from the team. Anyone know why the third worst team in the league would not want to dump anyone? Also, based on the list is there anyone we would want? Chicago Fire Jason Moore Midfielder Miguel Saavedra Midfielder Billy Sleeth Defender David Vaudreuil Defender Billy Walsh Midfielder D.C. United Roy Lassiter Forward Mike McGinty Goalkeeper Petter Villegas Midfielder Henry Zambrano(international) Forward MetroStars Byron Alvarez(international) Forward Ted Chronopoulos Defender Sam Forko Defender Martin Klinger Forward Leo Krupnik Defender New England Revolution Shaker Asad Midfielder Ian Fuller Forward Juergen Sommer Goalkeeper Colorado Rapids David Kramer Goalkeeper Raul Palacios(international) Midfielder Musa Shannon Forward Ricky Titus(international) Defender Dallas Burn Percy Olivares(international) Midfielder Los Angeles Galaxy Craig Waibel Defender San Jose Earthquakes Scott Bower Midfielder Luchi Gonzalez Forward Zak Ibsen Defender My thoughts would be Ted Chronopoulos or Luchi Gonzalez as we need defensive depth and a young forward couldn't hurt.
how old is Zak Ibsen? Although we really have no need for him Luchi would be agood pickup, i think. But i thiink Ted Chronopolus would be the most advatageous for us to sign out of anyone.
Interestingly neither Hunt operated team waived anyone. Throw Dallas in that soon to be pool as well. They only got rid of a bust SI in the Peruvian midfielder Percey Olivares who after his first few games didn't make a difference. Certainly not enough to maintain and SI roster spot. Maybe this is just the way the Hunt's will operate. Unsurprisinly Lassiter is on this list and is destined for A-league where oddly enough Digital is an MVP. I agree with the Chronopolus statement. Maybe Luichi Gonzalez, somebody saw something in him once just not sure where it went. A change of scenery might give him new focus. Ibsen or Sleeth might help in the back but this is pretty slim pickens at this point.
My thought on not waiving anyone is that there is no reason to waive anyone just yet. The people who would have got waived may have some trade value. The other thing is that we should wait to see who we can get out of the draft before we put anyone on waivers.
On that note, isnt it about that time or year for the Wizards to trade for someone just to have them retire instead?
I have noticed a trend. Players that are going to get waived have some sort of notice or feeling that they are. Over the year if you look at the press releases that state the community service for the week you will notice the ones that are doing it, or doing the majority of it are the players that are going to be waived. Maybe they are trying to make themselves valuable to the club.
the draft is done. Only 3 players were picked up. Colombus-Luchi Gonzalez F Colorado-Billy Seeth D San Jose-Craig Waibel D
