Cole had some good moments but involved way too less than he should be. Could add him there, i guess.

Varela was good on the ball but some of his positioning was Buttner-esque defensively at times. Gave Ibe too much space at the start and got muscled by Borini a few times.

Henriquez had good movement but couldn't hold up the ball if his life depended on it. ( might be exaggerating here a bit) Liverpool CB's pushed him off the ball too easy too many times when he didn't have immediate support.

A host of clubs have enquired about the availability of Manchester United youngster Larnell Cole, Sky Sports understands. The Premier League champions are considering whether to let the highly-rated England Under-20 international leave the club on loan in the coming weeks, as he is on the fringes of the first team.

I feel like Larnell has been around forever, and he's only 20! Hope we don't let him go for keeps before he gets a chance.

We have apparently poached a 16/17 year old AM/CM from City's academy in Gabriel Fernando.

No idea how good he is.

The Liverpool game was a u21 game or a cup game?

Pereira and Rothwell both on the bench.

No Petrucci or Vermijl at all.

Yeah, I just think it was a little strange to have a game on friday. I thought they scheduled them monday for a reason.

Maybe this could also be Powell's breakout season.

I'm hoping Powell gets a run with the big guys.

Yeah, some lovely football on display.

Majority of this team needs to be loaned out now given the weird U21 format this year and lack of competition in some games.

Plus the younger u19 group could get chances then in this as they are now stuck between the 2 age groups.

To those who watched the game yesterday: How was Powell?

Specifically, did he get involved a lot? Did he put himself about? Did he demand the ball? Was he influential?

I ask these things because sometimes I feel like he looked a bit too casual last season.

He seemed half disinterested at times and got involved when he needed but still bossed the game along with Cole and Thorpe in Midfield.

Think it's kind of his style to be that way almost. There's a arrogance to his game.

But also, West Brom were pretty poor and it wasn't really a challenge for him. He can definitely almost like Pogba used too seem casual at times at this level and not trying hard enough.

Though he usually puts himself about more in the bigger games at this level.

I think we should really be looking at developing some of the U21 talent we have here. Januzaj and Lingard should train with the first team regularly and Ashley Young and Valencia should carry their bags around.

Nick Powell has no regard for traditional backlift when shooting. I like.

OK now I definitely don't know what kind of player Powell is.
