Alright. I'll say what everyone is thinking and just afraid to post (or smart enough not to). Freddy starts today and scores off of a Bobby Convey corner. There it is..... Can you imagine?
Interesting how the two articles arrive at different conclusions about the likelihood of Adu starting today.
I think starting Adu today would be a good tactical decision. Smaller field (width and length) compresses the space making the best way to get in the clear is through moves (beating defenders one v one). I pick Adu over Esky in that area right now. I think Adu wants to show Goose a move or two after Goose introduced him to Mr. Shoulder in the opener. That was a sweat defensive play by the way.
Ken Wright is brilliant. Go to Big Soccer to find a storyline, and then propose the whole reason that United can't score on a corner is due to short strikers. Forget about the numbers that you put into the box, or those two tall defenders that we put in there everytime.....I get spoiled from reading Steve Goff's stuff too much.
His corners for the National team are head and shoulders above the quality of the balls he plays in for DC. I don't know why...I'm just pointing it out. james
Oh yeah, and that is because Kornholio is THE GOD of the MLS, as well Soccer in general. All must bow to everything he says. The world MUST stop and listen, and take immediate action, or we shall all suffer hellfire and brimstone. NOT Im pretty certain that Nowak has the smarts and experience and insight to start Adu at the most appropriate time. If he feels that is today, which he may, so be it. I know , or at least I THINK you were being sarcastic... or at least I hope you were, but I hightly doubt too many pay THAT much attention to what Kornholio says. That guy is the same way about hockey. If he thinks your sport is sub par, or inferior, t hen hes gonna bash it in every and any way he can. Give the man an inch , and hell take a 20 mile detour to do so. Sorry, I just dislike the guy.
I'm happy to see a Beckett reference in the title of an article about DC United. How fitting. "We want the beer man"
