Votes cast by participants in the (Un)Official 2007 Crew Wagering Thread will be collected and used in that thread. Votes by non-participants will be ignored. The 2007 MLS regular season runs 04/07 to 10/20. Can be trade, addition, or waiver. The MLSnet.com roster positions will be used for positions and determination of the winner. In the event of a trade, the incoming player position(s) will be used. If more than one position is involved simultaneously in a single type of transaction (example: two players waived), both positions score as a win. Transactions made before three days after this wager closes DO NOT count as wins and DO NOT end this wager.
The way he's been sucking it up out there, I've certainly thought of him as a MF'er. Grouchy, the "If more than one position is involved simultaneously in a single type of transaction"... does that include if their is a signing and a waiving to make room for the signing? So if say player X is a Def and is signed and we release player Y. Are both players considered winners to the bet?
Noted earlier, here The roster will be frozen and posted here when the wager closes. I have a script that runs frequently and compares the current MLS roster with the frozen one.
The player waived would be the winner. In this case the player would need to be waived / released to make room for the new player so techinically he would be the first change even though with the loose rules and wheelin' dealin's going on within MLS anything can really happen. The simultaneous clause was added to cover trades; so if we trade Gaven and a sack of ball polishers to RSL for Cunningham, then Jeffro (a Forward) would be the incoming position and win. The important thing to remember is that this wager cannot be perfect because we will never have the exact time of transaction. Luckily, the last wager was a simple "new guy".
Damn it Grouchy, you better get on the red phone to Garber at HQ and demand a timestamp on their transaction log. (btw, thanks for clarifying)... oh, and since I never added it in the original thread... Grouchy's a script-writing techno-douche!
Werd... Current roster, btw: Aaron Chandler (M-F) Andy Gruenebaum (GK) Andy Herron (F) Bill Gaudette (GK) Brad Evans (F) Brandon Moss (D) Chad Marshall (D) Danny O'Rourke (M) Danny Szetela (M) Duncan Oughton (M) Eddie Gaven (M-F) Ezra Hendrickson (D) Frankie Hejduk (D) Guillermo Barros Schelotto (M-F) Jacob Thomas (F) Jason Garey (F) Jed Zayner (D) Joseph Ngwenya (M) Kei Kamara (F) Marcos Gonzalez (D) Ned Grabavoy (M) Ricardo Virtuoso (F) Robbie Rogers (F) Rusty Pierce (D) Stefani Miglioranzi (M) Tim Ward (D) Will Hesmer (GK)
I wanted to bump this part just so everyone doesn't consider the Jar-Jar move, if it happens, to be qualified.
I'd like to bump this part as thanks to kaiser kraut for pointing this out because it looks like it is official. Joseph has been traded to Dallas. Here is what I'm going to do. 1. End this wager without a winner (even though I said I wouldn't above; but to be realistic I'm sure some folks might want to change their wagers now that another piece to the roster equation has been solved) 2. I will open G3, the third roster change wager, soon; same rules from G2 will apply to G3
News from Goff in DC: "*Not DCU related and more appropriate for yesterday's postings about MLS rumors, but I am hearing that Columbus is shopping midfielder Eddie Gaven. With a guaranteed salary of $188,000, though, it's going to be hard to move him."
You mean we don't get any points for beating the pre-wager-ending deadline instead of sitting on our lazy butts until the last few moments before the closing of the wager?
