Congrats should go out to Minnesota for making the playoff in their first season.

Congrats also to the Sounder-Saints for the great things they've done with their new management.

Anybody know if any of the matches will be broadcast via the web or where we can get updates on the games?

According to mati, "The Western Conference playoff match will be delay broadcast through GuerrillaFootball.com.".

That would be Seattle vs. Mile High.

Results from last nights Eastern Conference games:

    Ottawa Fury beat Toronto 3-2
Long Island Lady Riders upset Boston 1-0
Western Mass Lady Pioneers beat Northern Virginia 1-0

This weekend Ottawa will play Western Mass and Long Island will play New Jersey.

New Jersey fans will once again be annoyed at Pellerud and the Canadian National Team as he has picked LeBlanc and Hooper for the game against the U.S. but has left all the Ottawa Fury with their club.

Wow, wonder the justification in that, besides the obvious first thought, that he wants to give the Canadian club the edge.

Didn't some people in Italy just get in trouble for match fixing?

And if you look at the Candian Soccer announcement about the roster, he says,

“Our roster is spread thin at the moment. With an unreasonable number of injuries and with our U-20 candidates preparing for Russia, it has definitely proven to be a challenge to select a team for this single game against USA,” stated Pellerud. “In spite of that, it is a confident team heading to the United States."

He's only taking a roster of 15. And I guess all the Ottowa players are injured, wink, wink .

He has the Vancouver players - They don't have to Qualify, if they did - the US game would not have been scheduled

Seriously, I do not think the Wildcats will have any problems advancing.

I see Ottawa getting beat on Saturday - BTW - The Wildcats won in an exhibition game against them without Hooper and LeBlanc.

this is by far a deeper team than last year, all the players are equal to any task thown at them. You could remove the internationals and the Canadians(not counted as internationals in W-league) and they can still compete with any team

Though I don't think their chances are great, historically LI has given NJ a game each time they played. So I wouldn't count them out that quickly.

Think again. Wildcats won their first game against the Fury with Hooper and tied the second game against Ottawa without Hoopr and Le Blanc. In fact I watched that game and they(NJ) were lucky to come ot of there with a tie. Ottawa is capable of coming out with a win against Jersey with or without Hooper and Le Blanc. Certainly won't be a blow out. That's for sure.

OK, someone explain sacrificing an international friendly in favor of the W-League ?

My understanding is that the owner of the Whitecaps pays for pellerud's housing among many other things for the canadian team... Guess they don't want the Wildcats to be in Vancouver so they resort to this... GO WESTERN MASS

The Wildcats are also involved in the playoffs. If New Jersey and Ottawa win their semifinal matches Saturday night, the two teams will play Sunday with the winner advancing to the W-League finals in Vancouver.

"We are not allowed to play in that game," fumed Hooper. "The Ottawa players are allowed to play in that game. You explain that."

Charlotte and Richmond advanced to the Central Conference title game last night. Richmond upset top-seeded Michigan 2-0, while the Lady Eagles ended Minnesota's cinderella run 4-3 on PK's (1-1 AET; after extra time). The game will be at 5PM this afternoon.

Charge fan I thought yor were a fan of Canadian teams I guess your devotion is segregated. No surpsie there as you refelect what most Canadian fans are like. Maybe Western Mass will win then what? Keeping the Canadian team players out of the match would be in vain. I think hooper is just mad becasue she had the oppurtunity to go to Ottawa. Now if Ottawa advances and defeats New Jersey she would have made the wrong decsion.

90th minute goal by Long Island; we're tied 2-2.

Overtime. First time 2 goals have been allowed by the Wildcats at MCCC since June 15, 2005 (exhibition vs. Big Apple All-Stars) and only the second time since August 1, 2004 (the 6-5 fireworks display vs. Montreal in the east final that year when Marinette Pichon scored 5 NJ goals).

Long Island almost scored again at the death of 1st extra time. Still tied 2-2.

There was a conference semifinal tonight, the Central, won by Charlotte, 1-0 over Richmond. The Lady Eagles advance to the W-League final four next Friday.
