    Laughing Out Loud

Djibril Cissé - I thought about bringing this one in but couldn't afford to lose the extra points with Aviators on the rise.

Did I just laugh out LOUD.

    :p

Don't worry - I also brought in Luke Young instead of Wayne Bridge!

Thank goodness no one had a big score this weekend! Look at that average score in our league eh??

Yeesh, I really got lucky with the Ekotto performance considering I actually only ended up fielding 9 players today, and my 9th only played about 10 minutes (Nasri)!!

Somehow managed to get 4 goal/assist this weekend!

VSR Pre-GW26 transfers so far. Three of us have voluntarily incurred 4 point penalties. There are some very interesting (and desparate) gambits amongst these trades. It's a tough league with some very attentive and creative managers.

FC St. Pauli A Johnson (MAC) Pienaar M EVE 7
FC St. Pauli Morison Saha F TOT 6.9
Park Lane Keane Gervinho F ARS 8.9
Park Lane Ramsey Cabaye M NUF 5.8

FC Touchline Ban Ben Arfa Surman M NOR 4.4
Aviators Crouch Agbonlahor F AST 6.8
Aviators Dzeko Drogba F CHE 10.1

    What a weird season!!!

I am up to 2nd, having fielded less than XI each of the past 2 (maybe 3?) weeks.....but unfortunately that means we've all basically handed the league to FC St. Pauli! He's got 100 pts on me FCTB....but us two have separated in the promotion battle.

What both of us are hoping for? We both get a promotion because someone from Small Rocks decides not to play FPL next year! :)

Stretch run now.....just about 10 games left.

My new side! First choice XI - haha, as if I'll get more than 10 players on the pitch again this season. Think it's been 3-4 weeks straight with 9-10!

[LINEUP-4-4-2]P. Cisse, Saha, Valencia, Silva, Yaya Toure, Nani, Warnock, Assou-Ekotto, Skrtel, R. Taylor, Mignolet[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

    Subs:

    FW - D. Cisse
    DF - Kelly
    MF - Jarvis
    GK - Al-Habsi

haha, I'll never have all 16 it appears so my first XI is prob irrelevant! I imagine though if all 16 were available I'd take D. Cisse over Warnock or Jarvis over Warnock....

After several years (and four months too many), I think I'm decided that I'm retiring or at least suspending my participation in the Rocks league. Ingro has likewise signed out, and he did it better. My reasons? Yep, busy: I'm working right now at 10pm on a Friday. And then there's the social life, which makes Friday transfers difficult on those occasions when I'm home. But most of all it's the time it takes to do a transfer. The Gdocs make it better, but lacking the time to do an updated spreadsheet of available free agents means the process becomes a clock-hog and fraught with error. This season I needed a team that didn't have all the bad actors not named 'Barton' on my squad, and when I ended up with Team Delinquent, namely Suarez and Balotelli, I needed to do transfers more than ever precisely when I wasn't willing to carve out the time do them.

I'll be taking next season off for sure, but I'll be watching closely during the draft because, hey, my brother loves that time of year almost as much as seeing his grandkids (I looked forward to it starting each June), and I want to see who he gets. Then the season after, I might pop back in to the bottom division. If a certain leggy Italian girl is out of my life by then, I might be more willing to make the time.

It's been fantastic fun these many years. One of my fondest memories was being in San Francisco with my brother, I think in his first season and my second or third, and seeing the goals pile up for my midfield, two each for Lamps, Murphy and Barton, ending with a 95 (which until this crazy scoring season was a shockingly high tally). Having him there with me made it even better, and being in my favorite city was the capper. Our hour-long predraft phone calls, the email exchanges with Blech, seeing Blech and Tarv at the Culver City bar for a match meetup, exulting when a newly grabbed player gets a goal first time he's in my squad, writing up a long post on some silly subject, laughing out loud at Lobo's always hilarious posts, getting three calls from Hal when I was 15 minutes into my draft pick timeframe, all this made the last 8 or so years so much richer. I'm gonna miss all of you. Take care of my sibling! He should be forced to take the 'Virgins' out of his name by now, having done so very well here.

    Cheers!

Always knowing that Porkie is up to something. Good Luck and that doesn't mean we can't meet at a certain Culver City bar...
