If the playoffs were today, imfc would be in & TFC would be out.

Hi. I'm a Rapids fan that is briefly in town for business. I'm hoping to help cheer on the Impact tonight, but a couple of questions:

    1) What's the best way to get to the stadium from downtown? How much time should I allow?
    2) I don't have a ticket yet. I need just one. I was planning on trying to get one at the box office when I arrive. Do you think this will be a problem?

    Thanks!

Best way is probably to take the metro. You need to take the green line so if you are close to metro Mcgill or Peel you won't need to change line. Can't tell you how much time exactly to metro Pie IX but probably not more than 20 minutes.

Judging from the last two games, there will probably still be some tickets. Probably not in the cheap zones (25$) though. I bought 3 tickets last week and there was only one place in those sections with 3 seats in a row available. Even if there is no more tickets available (which I really doubt) there will be some scalpers with tickts for the cheap sections.

It seems like those two big empty patches filled in quite a bit this second half so I guess that there are actually people who missed the entire first half of the game?

Dismal effort. Well I'm guessing they were dog-tired from 3 games in such a short span .. Hope Di Vaio has got more than I saw tonight, altho I knew he was a poacher type, and they couldn't get the ball to him. Not a big fan of signing old guys ..

It's his first game after a few weeks training with the team. He's not yet aclimated to the system, he doesn't know his teammates and he's not exactly in peak fitness. Give him time before you give up on him.

As for signing "old guys", Danny Koeverman's just laid his 7th on you. Mid thirties is only old if a player has nothing left and I don't Di Vaio is done if his last season was any indication.

Starting Di Vaio was a mistake. I was hoping to see more of Wenger (if available), Why does Ubi never starts? He is a better option than Neagle, IMO. Ohh Lord, Ferrari come back as soon as possible..

Wenger has a left hamstring strain .. I guess Marsch thought Neagle deserved a start after his sub performance against Houston. Seems to be a very inconsistent player..

Thanks for the tips; I had a great time at the game. I'm sorry the Impact did not get a win, but you all have a great club, stadium and friendly fans. I had the pleasure of sitting near the supporters behind the goal and they did a stellar job filling the stadium with energy.

On a side note, I'm envious of the great public transportation you have available to get to and from the stadium. What a fantastic benefit.

    Thanks for the hospitality.

    Preview:

Team still looking for first Canadian rank

TORONTO, Ontario – In its second-to-last game of the regular season, the Montreal Impact (12-15-5) is fighting to finish the season as the best team in Canada as it visits Toronto FC (5-20-7), on Saturday at 1:30pm (ET) at BMO Field. The game will be broadcast live on TSN/RDS and is available on illico web.

The Impact is chasing the Vancouver Whitecaps FC for the top seed in the 2013 Amway Canadian Championship, sitting with 41 points with two games remaining on the season, while Vancouver has 42 points with the same number of games played. TFC is guaranteed to finish as the third seed for the Canadian Championship tournament, ahead of FC Edmonton of the North American second division (NASL).

    See You Next Year
Canadian rivals Toronto, Montreal draw 0-0 in 2012 BMO finale
    [IMG]
It’s been that kind of year at BMO Field.

Toronto FC closed out their 2012 home campaign on Saturday afternoon with a 0-0 draw against rivals Montreal Impact, who were making their first-ever visit to Toronto in MLS regular season play.

Goalkeeper Freddy Hall helped TFC hold on to their first league shutout since July 14 with a couple of key stops during a hectic series of stoppage time assaults on the Toronto goal. TFC were also helped by a lack of sharpness from Montreal’s attackers, a common theme that afflicted both sides in the scoreless match.

While Toronto’s winless run reaches 13 matches, the expansion Impact moved closer to registering the best record by a Canadian team in MLS this year, which would give them the No. 1 seed in next year’s Canadian Championship. Despite their current five-game winless run, the Impact’s 42 points are on par with Vancouver, who are still battling for a playoff spot in the West.

    ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... huh? oh hi there.

So they played a game yesterday? I guess they got a point out of it, and Vancouver lost today. First seed next year looks good.

The Impact wants a sea of blue at Olympic Stadium vs TFC

March 16 to set the tone for second MLS season

More than ever, we are counting on our 12th player, the team’s supporters,” said Impact executive vice-president Richard Legendre. “We’d love to have a sea of blue to drown out the wave of red. We invite all our supporters at the stadium to sing and chant with the Ultras. We want our players to feel that the city is behind them, just as they were in last year’s home opener. March 16 could set the tone for the rest of our second season in MLS.”

Wish I could fly out to be there. I'll be wearing my Jersey, I just won't be in the Stadium.

We'll be there in the supporters' section and wearing blue. I hope they stuck the TFC fans in the upper deck.

Got my 2 GA tickets this week. Pumped.

I lurk in the TFC boards every now and then. They are split among both the upper and lower decks.
lower sections are 149 - 151, 255 to 263 and 369 to 377. Plus many 400 sections along that corner.

I really hope we start selling upper seats at $10-$15. This game has the makings of a classic if its full.
