True story about Saint John/St. John's and Canada's only appearance at the World Cup:

In 1985, Canada was set to face Honduras in what was ultimately the deciding match for the Canadians. The game was scheduled for St. John's, and hundreds of Honduran fans mistakenly traveled to Saint John instead.

By the time they realized their mistake, it was too late for them to make arrangements to go to St. John's. Canada ended up qualifying for the 1986 World Cup in front of a raucous home crowd at King George V stadium.

Back on topic: The Canadian Championship games will likely be available on MLS Live (they were last year).

Well that's better than me. Everything I learned about Canada I learned from SCTV. (Does anybody else remember John Candy's, "It's a Canadian Fact."?)

I also learned about Canada from "The Kids in the Hall", as well. I remember SCTV. They had Bob and Doug McKenzie. Rick Moranis was never funnier.

Never heard this story before, but that's an epic tale. I actually grew up in Nova Scotia, but I've been in Newfoundland for about 6 years (left to attend University in 2007).

As for the AHL, we used to be the Marlies. Now though, we host Winnipeg's farm team. Had a fantastic first season last year, however the 2012-2013 season was not as kind to the Ice Caps.

Those sneaky Canucks. Perhaps that is why Honduras seems to really enjoy playing Canada.

That would be awesome, but I'm not seeing it available for me. I'm getting a blackout message. :(

I think that's because the games are on Sportsnet.

I don't recall them ever being available in the US on anything other than illegal streaming. I can hope I'm wrong here but I have a feeling I'm not.

I wonder if it's possible to subscribe to it in the US via one of the satellite systems--it's blacked out for me, too.

You know what's a terrible show? Numbers. There's a kidnapping, and the kidnapper wants $2.3 million. Seems a little abstract to me. I mean, 2.3 million dollars? Why not just go balls out and ask for the full 3? Anyway, this seems pretty open and shut, so what does math have to do with this episode? F*ck if I know, but stay tuned and find out. Or not. My wife has control of the TV, so I have no choice.

I had the choice of watching this match, or the Madrid/Dortmund match. I have no idea what happened in that match, but can someone who watched it let me know if it's any better than this? I just want to know if I made the right decision.

Is street racing in Dubai that big of a problem that the cops need Lamborghinis? Seems a little extreme for cops to have Lamborghinis.

I dunno, but any cop car that has nowhere to actually put someone if you arrest them is pointless.

This is why cup matches should be one-offs. This is downright terrible.

    A commercial for cricket! Sweet!

IPL is actually pretty cool. Test cricket is boring, but Twenty20 is really neat.

Holy shit. Edmonton's stadium is frigging huge!! No matter how many people show up, it'll still look dead empty.
