The Midnight Riders, a New England Revolution independent supporters association, are in the process of soliciting feedback for a number of new scarf designs being considered for production in the 2003 season. You may vote for your favorite design at the Midnight Riders website at http://www.midnightriders.com Examples: These scarfs will be produced by Soccerscarf.com, will be 100% acrylic, and will hopefully be available for sale (prices to be determined) prior to the Revolution's early matches in the Football Confederation Champions Cup, reportedly slated for February. These final four designs were selected by the Riders Board after examining and debating some sixteen different preliminary designs. These final designs feature any number of design elements, from the Midnight Riders shield to the First Flag of New England (a red ensign with the St. George's Cross on a white canton, the green tree in the canton of the cross) dating from the late 1600's. There is even a variation of the traditional English "hoop" style. So navigate over to the Riders site and cast your vote along with your comments. One vote per person please. Sincerely, The Midnight Riders
They are all nice designs, and I'll buy whatever one gets the final vote. I just tried to vote for one and I got an error message. Tom
Has there been any thought given to doing a new round of Riders t-shirts? My 1996 shirt's looking a little haggard.
In my unbuyist (sp?) opinion, the Super Revs! or Super Revolution! text is kinda cheesy, but the rest of both scarves are awesome.
Has there been any thought given to doing a new round of Riders t-shirts? My 1996 shirt's looking a little haggard I believe that's also being considered, but not until closer to the start of the regular season. The Magpie
soccerscarf.com does those mini-scarves too. they may be a little impractical....but, the revs really should do an "eastern conf champions" version with those. they would clearly sell better than that silly shirt they've come up with. maybe the "super revs" would be a little less "cheesey" if it we're a little more tongue-n-cheek....like "supah revs!" i've voted.
Vote early (but not often!). Gohawks: "Supah Revs" is often heard at Foxboro (I wanted it to be spelled phonetically too). It might be cheesey, but to quote Chester Cheetoh, "it's not easy being cheesey." Re: the shirts, I think Monty might be able to dig one of the 1999 version shirts buried in his trunk, if you ask him nice. Of course, the colors are backwards. -Amy
Got the error message too I'll try again later. Love number 2. On the topic of shirts and merch, how about a Revs' gameday shirt knock-off with the Riders' logo on the breast instead? It would be wicked pissah! Wouldn't that look good on a scarf! Roger
i got the error message too until i realized there were boxes for an email and name along with the vote choices.....it went thru fine when i filled them. maybe that's the rub?
i agree, the Super Revs! and Super Revolution is really cheezy. A simple Revs or Revolution would be suited just fine for a scarf.
Anyone else think that the Midnight Riders Logo is better than the actual team logo? The Revolution should adopt it as their own Logo... Any thoughts? Nate
Tough decision. I like the "Pride of Foxboro" ones because I live in Foxboro, though the "Loyal Suporters of the Revolution" sounds really good. I'm so torn.
The "Pride of Foxboro" strikes me as akin to "Happy to be from Hooterville". It's not as though Foxboro's Finest is a title of wide reknown or something. Can you imagine the Pistons or Lions being called the Pride of Pontiac (or wherever they are now)? Other than that, the designs are good, although the BIG word on the scarf should be "Revolution", not Riders - after all, what's the "object" here?
The object is to vote for which Midnight Riders scarf you'd like the organization to offer for sale. Simple as that. The Magpie
Feel free to criticize, there's even an option for feedback when you vote. Rkupp asked for the "object." I gave him the "object." 'Nuff said. The Magpie
my opinion Nice choices but for one...don't go with the lettering style on #3...those close-set block letters won't read well from a distance. My other thought is that by putting Eastern Conference Champions it's really dating the scarf. Besides, I really wanted it to read MLS Cup Champion and would rather wait and see THAT on there! 103 FAN
