[and no, it's not for roughing up Scum fans or players!) This blood drive is part of DC United's efforts surrounding 9/11 remembrance activities. It will take place out in lot 8 at the Soccer Celebration area where the floats usually are. The Inova Bloodmobile is arriving around 3:45 or so, and they need volunteers from 4:30 pm to finish at around 7:30 pm. Duties include assisting donors in filling out info sheets, entering to win a ball, circulating Inova flyers on the importance of donating and to play with the kids of parents who want to donate (kids can't go in with their parents when they're donating) and just to help manage the area in general. GIVE BLOOD!!!! Despite the fact that most of the country donated blood right after 9-11-01, there is still a need. Blood has a pretty short shelf life and, unfortunately, most of the blood given during that time had to be disposed of. GIVE BLOOD!!!
