Matt got away with a reach-around handball (I'm no stranger to those) in the box, otherwise he'd have been skated passed, after an ill-advised slide tackle, subsequent to slipping on an easy clearance. Damn, things came apart on the end there. Turned his excellent performance into a so-so one (also think he could have anticipated better in the lead-up to the second goal). Still, not bad for a donkey. He should reward himself with some hay after the match.
The whole Vitesse defense got much shakier after Muhren came in at the 63' mark. He scored both AZ goals.
I know that there is no defense in the Ered and that Vitesse is too low a level for him and that being a loanee they won't properly train him, but aside from those things, I have a feeling it will be a nice season of seasoning for Miazga if he can get steady minutes.
First match in quite some time for Matt. Give him a few more games under his belt and I'd wager he's in the team for the remainder of the season.
