Maybe the looming European match was on Vitoria's players minds, but they let last weekends excellent victory over Boavista seem like ancient history. The game in the 1st half was very poor by both teams. Things improved in the second half, but for the home team.

    Nacional 1-0 V. Setubal .

Better results might be out of reach for the Sadinos in the Uefa cup if they play like this again.

Arsenal 2/FC Porto 0. Looks like Setubal wasn't the only 'useless' team.

It's unfortunate that Vitória crapped out at home in the first leg against Heerenveen, but I don't think most gave this squad a chance at advancement. Nonetheless, they managed to help out with the coefficient with the away draw

A rainy night . Vitoria went ahead on a Mario Carlos goal w/ a man advantage
early in the 1st half. In the 2nd half it too lost a player, and was punished w/ a goal against.

    Vitoria 1-1 Paços Ferrreira.

    AVES-V. SETÚBAL, 1-2 (Sérgio Carvalho 60'; Lourenço 57' e Bruno Ribeiro 81')

Lourenço enters as a sub and in the next minute scores the first goal of the match.

    V. SETÚBAL-U. LEIRIA, 1-2 . Amuneke 29' scored for the Sadinos.

The bird in the hand that got away. After reaching 1-0 at half time, the 2nd half was deadly for Vitoria.

Is former Sporting striker Mariusz Niculae on his way to Vitória de Setúbal, of all places?

    http://www.ojogo.pt/22-264/artigo591207.htm

Wow, how his stock has fallen. I remember when he was with Dinamo Bucharesti and he had refused a trial with Manchester United, saying that if they had wanted him, they had to sign him as he was not interested in any trial period. Suffice to say, Man Utd never took up the offer. Good thing, I suppose...

    BEIRA-MAR-V. SETÚBAL, 1-1 (Ratinho 73'; Varela 84')

Varela w/ the equalizer and Vitoria retains the 2 points advantagem over Beira-Mar in the classification table.

Fifth game in a row without knowing the thrill of victory for Vitoria.

Vitoria 1-2 Sp. Braga. 0-1 at half time.

M'Bamba scored in the 2nd half to tie the score, but Sp. Braga got one more on a PK. The visitors were reduced to men for the last 15 minutes or so.

A Taca de Portugal game, a chance for Vitoria to do well, as it has in the last couple of years, but not this time , despite putting on a decent display and effort, the end
    result was :Académica-V. Setúbal, 2-1.
