    Hey folks,

I could use some advice from you London locals (or frequenters) on the board here. I'm visiting London in October and wondering if there's anything in particular you'd recommend a soccer fan see or do while there?

I'd certainly like to see a game, but we're going to be there on weekdays (Monday 18 - Friday 22), so I know that limits our options.

Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks!

Hey bro, I'd stay in Notting Hill if you haven't found a place yet. Portabello Gold is where I'll stay next. Go to St Paul's Cathedral, walk across the Thames via Millenium Bridge to Tate Modern Museum. Go to a first division game (or whatever division they're called now, other than first...). Do, ride the double decker red bus, get on and off where ever you want. Trafalgar's Square has many ladies, but I took a liking to Notting Hill. Get on a train and see Bath. Go to Shakespear's Theater. I almost choked when I just checked the schedule for the time you'll be there...it's disgusting. One day earlier and you could catch Villa Arsenal, you stay one day later and you could catch Villa Fulham. Dude, check that ******** next time! Up the Villa mate. Damn I love the Villa!

Call Premiership HQ in London, tell them you're bringing a video camera on holiday with you, slip them a monkey and I'm sure they'll be willing to move one of the weekend fixtures to Monday or Tuesday night to accomodate a perceived US television opportunity.

Thanks so much, that's a big help! By the way, where did you get that list of games by date from?

Yeah, when I checked the schedule, I almost cried. Would have loved to see either of those Villa games. Maybe next time. Already got the hotel booked (somewhere in central London), and the ladies of Trafalgar Square don't hold much interest for me personally, as I am a lady myself ;) But many thanks for the other suggestions on where to visit. I do think we'll try to catch a division one game, maybe West Ham. I can kind of squint and try to pretend they're Villa.

Forget Stringfellows or Spearmint Rhino get yourself down to the Griffin. I think its in the West End. You can have a pint and watch the football on the big screen. When the screen goes up a attractive young lady will entertain you instead, for only £1. Private dances are also available but I don't know how much they cost.

I suggest West Ham v Stoke. Watford can also be counted as a London club by the way (it's very close), so that'd be a possibility too.

Does Millwall still have that system where only members can buy tickets (which was introduced because of the constant fan troubles)? Or was that removed again?

I recomend West Ham v Stoke.
Good chance of seeing some genuine, bonafide Engerlish pikey hooliganism! :)

I think that's only for aways and high risk games, could be wrong though.

Hey if you want to see a game on the weekday, all you could probably catch a "Championship Game"(formerally Division 1) or Division 2(changed to Division 1) on the weekday.HAVE TO SEE TOWER BRIDGE (Great foto opportunities). Also, Buckingham Palace! Tower of London, if your up for it since it could get boring after a while! Have a Great Time! I DID!

Btw I've been to London last week with a few friends... I suggest getting a ticket for one of those buslines that run all over London. It's a bit "tourist-style" but I liked it heh. We also visited Highbury stadium and it's museum.
