Re: Re: VISION INDIA - dates changed

Thanks mate! Yeah it's really hard work, but all for the best of Indian & Asian football.

We Asians must try to improve our football. Korea, Japan and Iran are good examples. China is the next Asian force to shine. So let's hope, that WE Asians can play a much bigger role in world football soon. Conferences like VISON INDIA are just one step on a long and hard journey.

But dreams can come true ;) And we should support each other!

The next matches of the senior national team will be the Asian Cup China 2004 Qualifying matches against North Korea on March 23 and March 30.

After these both matches the Indian U-23 will take on Turkmenistan in the Asian zone Olympic Preliminary Rounds on April 4 and April 19.

There might be two to four preparation matches before these matches kicks-off.

By the way - a fact which is not known to everybody: The Indian senior team and the U-23 team are almost the same. Most of the U-23 players are members of the senior team. The only difference at the senior level is, that the team includes star skipper Baichung Bhutia, Jo Paul Ancheri (Indian Player of the Year 2001), I.M. Vijayan (scored the second fastest goal in an international / after 9 seconds) and three to four other players aged over 23.

This team is a very talented one, but they have to take more steps in future. It won't be a easy task, but I'm sure it will work. Another positive factor is, that the India U-17 and India U-20 reached the quarterfinals of the AFC Championships.

    Let's wait and see... :)

indianfootball.com is the best place to find infos about Indian football. I'm saying this not only, because I'm a editor of this site. There are several small sites about Indian football, but indianfootball.com has established itself as India's Premier Footbal Site. We offer all the latest news, results, standings, database and much more, which are used by officials, players, fans and even journalists world-wide to get infos on Indian football... Further more indianfootball.com is the official website of the Indian national team during their annual England Tour. So we have good contacts to officials, players etc.

indianfootball.com is run by Arunava Chaudhuri and myself, Chris P.Daniel. We are both second-generation Indian students from Germany. So it sounds a little bit funny, if you talk about India's leading football site which is run from Germany :)

We are proud, that we reached such a standard. But unfortunatly by reaching this level we are facing more and more problems to keep up the work and to get better, as we are finacing the whole site and our work from our own pocket. So we are searching for sponsors who can provide us with money or technical equipment like notebooks etc....

    INDIA RULEZ! ;)

Keep an eye on the latest on Indian football at indianfootball.com

If you would like to support Indian football generally, you can also join the INDIAN FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS CLUB (IFSC)

    Pigs Eye (St. Paul),
Football Asia on Fox Sports World channel just had a feature on the Indian National Team this week. It was mostly about their new coach, a Brit who formerly coached in Nepal, and a new hot striker they have.

If it is the same guy that was the head coach of the Nepalese team, he did quite a bit of good with them. They won their first game in several years under that guy and I think he even won them a trophy in some cup. He should be able to do a lot more with a bigger talent pool.

The name of the conference had to be changed, due to a conference, which the All India Football Federation is organising under our old name, VISION INDIA. So VISION INDIA has been renamed to FOOTURIX INDIA.

    Stephen Constantine

The Indian chief coach is Stephen Constantine. He coached the Nepal nationalteam and was able leave a great impact there. Constantine started his job as India chief coach with several good performances like the six-nation LG Cup 2002 victory in Vietnam, a draw against Jamaica in a friendly match in England and an impressive Busan Asian Games 2002.

    Ashim Biswas

The striker you spoke about might be Ashim Biswas. He is 19 years old and plays for the NFL team Tollygunge Agragami and made his debut for the Indian senior nationalteam in the SAFF Championship 2003 (South Asian Championship) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Biswas scored 3 goals in 5 matches in this tournament. The Tollygunge striker played also in the AFC U-20 Championship 2002 in Qatar and was very impressive. Ashim Biswas is also one of the top-scorers in the ongoing National Football League with 9 goals in 18 matches. Biswas is one of many young and talented Indian players coming from the India U-20 and India U-17 nationalteams. Both teams were able to reach the AFC Championship quarterfinals. So there are several players to watch in future...
