What I've seen so far from this team (espn3 carries games) is... this is a WEAK team. The defense is not solid enough. After Vargas and Jovetic, little offensive capability. I don't see them go down, but 14th-15th is likely IMHO. I'm not sure the way things are going that Rossi returns for 2012-13. Looks like renovation time and a few years of just holding on for dear life. Losing Prandelli was HUGE. Never the same since.
Either they suck or they're interchangeable. In other words, there are numerous other players in Serie A and elsewhere who could do what they do just as well. I might still exclude Vargas from this distinction....but it's certainly been a while since he impressed. Dark days.
His last season was already average therefore I think that problem is not coach but mostly players and their attitude.
I think Rossi has to be given at least one summer transfer window before a judgement call on his job should be made. Will that happen? Who knows.
HarveyDent, HuntKop: You guys really think Rossi stands a chance if the worst (Serie B) happens? The team looks totally lost and unfocused. That is for the coach to help fix.
the last 3 games were decisive and we lost the connection to place 5. 3:0, 2:0, 1:0, next game we draw Rossi stays even if the club goes to serie B. but...we never go down, too much quality in this team. another year just average... this suxxx.
Hard to fix when it is not his players. I think Rossi should stay and have at least one real window to bring in his guys. It is more the fault of the people who constructed this squad than his and those who chose Miha in the first place. But, like I said, there is no telling. One thind Rossi has going for him, it doesn't seem like Fiorentina really give a damn about staying up. Just like Samp last year. It is inexplicable but from the board to the management to the squad it just doesn't seem like they care at all. That perception could me just me, but I doubt it. I'm sure Samp thought this year would just be a one-year hiatus... and that is not the case for them at all. La Viola could be in real trouble.
Correction: I do see the Viola going down now. At least if Rossi stays. The players do not want to play for him. Mentally unfocused, easily rattled team. A coach has to prepare his team, and the Viola look out of sorts.
The players are mentally unfocused because they are a collection of washed up mercenaries and Serie B quality scraps. Amauri and Vargas are finished, Montolivo is daydreaming of all the money he will make at Milan next year, the only guys who care are constantly injured.
I will say this, if Rossi had any balls he would have banished Montolivo to the reserves a long time ago.
Everyone seems to think he's Pirlo's heir, though. The only ones who don't think so are us guys who watch him every season.
I am thinking back in the last 10-15 years but I can't ever remember the last time Fiorentina lost 0-5 at home. Even during their horrid relegation season of 2001-2002, they never lost this bad. It has to be one of their worst losses ever.
I somehow still remember the thrashing received at the hands of AC Milan in the early 90s... 3-7 final. If there is no reaction after this 0-5 score, Fiore are a Serie B team for sure. BTW in Spain, Villareal is struggling to stay in the 1st Division and had no doubts in firing their 2nd coach this season. The coach, Molina, had previously coached Villareal's reserve team in the 2nd Division so he was a "club guy" and still... gone.
That was a bad one too bad that was 19 years ago and at least they scored 3 goals... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6Eis2YDj9c"]Fiorentina 3-7 Milan - Campionato 1992/93 - YouTube[/ame]
a new Team around Jovetic 4-4-2 we need a poacher, a real number Ten and a top Regista (bye ybe Montolivo finally) three big trades this summer.
good question. he's young and often injured. cause of this we need 2-3 stars. JoJo can't decide 38 serie A games (ähm 20 teams/40games!) Fiorentina is in Jovetic's debt.
