    Hi Sportingistas,

I wonder if I can trouble you for some information about Adrien who is being linked to my English team QPR. I know a few years ago Chelsea wanted him and in November he was being linked with Liverpool & Spurs.

So are these stories just his agent trying to drum up a new contract or are you resigned to losing him? Is he as good as his reputation (I see even by Sporting's standards he has broken into the team very early)? Would be great to have a high quality Portuguese player at QPR and I guess he would have work with Sousa in the youth set up of the national team.

Anyway any views would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Well. look at it from our perspective. We don't have much depth in our roster, and now YET ANOTHER english team is coming to rip off our players. What is it with English and their inability to create their OWN talent?

Actually the money in English football is just so obscene that they can hoover up talent from all round the world. Sporting's youth development is probably 2nd only to Ajax so you draw the attention of the English....the best players will benefit from it while other will rot in the reserves like the boys at Chelsea and Rui Fontes at Arsenal.

I don't think he would move to QPR, this is Sousa just being optimistic. They don't have enough money to purchase his pass.

He will be a regular first teamer next year once Veloso is sold off. He is a better Def Mid then Veloso and doesn't have any attitude issues.

They are reworking his contract as we speak.

Money we have....lots of it too but we're tending to spend upto £2m not more so I suspect its unlikely. We also have a bid in for Helder Barbosa, now that would be a very tasty collection of young Portuguese talent. Um feliz Ano Novo para todos

QPR has the 4th wealthiest person on the face of the earth as a co-owner, but it doesn't seem like it. They aren't spending big money yet.

Helder Barbosa is a legit young winger, but he hasn't been able to get into the first team and stay there yet. If he moves to QPR it would be a step down for him at this point, but if they get promoted to the EPL this year, it wouldn't be such a bad move for him.

Adrien seems to be maturing very nicely into a top pro.

yea reports say that Fiorentina are closely eyeing him, but he should stay at Sporting for a couple more years. Experience wouldnt hurt him and a call up to the national squad in a few years seems more realistic.

No coincidence, they are going to be fighting people off for Felipe Melo and will probably need a replacement in due time.

And yet he may end up in the EPL. Sucks.
