I know they did this in Germany in 2006 and do it across the world so i was wondering if were planning on having any large viewing parties, perhaps outside, that alot of people could attend, for this summers games? I know that in the plans for the U.S. to host the world cup and for philly to be one of the cities, the city said they would show the games on large screens in front of the Art Muesum. I dont think it would be done on this large of a scale for this summer but possibly something like that could be done?
I was in England during Germany '06 and some cities had big screens set up for when the 3 Lions were playing, but that was in England where the entire nation shuts down for WC games. Plus the timezone difference with South Africa might be a snag for doing something like that here. Though I'm all for it if they try!
On the big screen at the stadium would be a good start...didn't some of the MLS stadiums do that in 2006?
I was thinking that too, but the stadium might not be ready. If it is ready that would be a nice way to do a dry run before the opening game.
I'd def watch at the stadium, i know it's like beating a dead horse but is there any new time frame on the stadium completion?
I was at Temple U for Freshman Orientation (ahhh, I'm old) and they had the game in several locations on campus. Including the common area in the field for the Italy vs France final while we all played a 4 vs 4 tourney. Winner keeps playing. Worst idea ever. My team played for 2.5 hours straight.
