I'll believe it when it's in the Gazzetta.

Thank you, Sue. From the channel4 article, it didn't say that the deal was final. But it sure does seem that way.

So Juventus supporters are you thrilled about getting Vieri???

As a Juve supporter I could pass on Vieri. I'd rather get Gilardino, he's a lot younger.

Rumors are that Vieri will sign a 4 year contract worth $4 million a year? A little outrageous if you ask me.

I heard something like a 2-3 year deal with pay cut. Whether he'd except that I dunno. Heck, I'd take a pay cut to get out of Inter.

Another rumor I heard is DiVaio, Carini and Thuram going to Inter for Vieri.

Not a good deal if you ask me.

Not a good deal at all. If we let got rid of Maresca I'll really be pissed. Gillardino, Morientes are both better pick ups than Vieri. This is not a typical Juve type transfer at all. I hope it's just rumors.

Well 6pm went by and nothing...

Could Moggi be throwing a smoke screen up for another deal?

I agree with you Dante. Moggi smoke screen for something bigger. Your side needs to keep Maresca. I hope Gilardino goes to Roma, but Juve has the money. This will be fun to watch.

Wow Vieri signed for Juve already??

wait a second this is total bull because nothing has come out officially and the newspapers are just trying to back up their claims from yesterday. Lets face it guys this happens every fu*cking year with Vieri first he is going to Roma to join Totti and Cassano. Then he comes out and refutes so thats the end of that. Now it's the Juve link AGAIN. Come one guys this story is getting pretty old. Moggi didnt sign him when he had the chance and he wont sign him now (unless he is out of his mind).

This is how the deal will break down. You get Vieri a 31 year old and we get Di Vaio and possibly Maresca/ Zambrotta. Hahaha we get a younger striker who has successfully linked up with Adriano before and a possible young superstar/ your best defender. Now you tell me who is getting the rotten end of that deal. Vieri is going to have to take a mad pay cut and then gel with the team by the time that happens half the season is gone and while this is all happening the rapid dogs that are the media will be pouncing all over him and your team for the lack of success.

As for the smoke screen thing I agree this is the same ploy cept its Gilardino and possibly Ferrarri. Oh my I think its going to be a long drawn out season with a lot of complications especially for Inter. Anyways have fun brooding over this possible capture and good luck to the machine that is the Old Lady, not that your going to need I suspect.

If there is any truth to this story, Juve's management team is comprised of complete idiots. It is indeed baffling that they appear hell-bent on bringing on board an injury-prone, soon-to-be 31-year old who has perhaps experienced better playing days when a number of fine young prospects ( Javier Ernesto Chevanton, Alberto Gilardino, Fernando Cavenaghi, inter alia) are ripe for the picking. What makes these allegations so incredulous is that during his time with the Giallorossi and Real Madrid, Fabio Capello gained a reputation for giving young players a chance. Senior, established stars have a habit coming to blows with him. I doubt he would sanction the acquisition of the stubborn centre-forward.

Nothing has been decided yet according to the gazzetta (http://www.gazzetta.it/primi_piani/calcio/2004/pp_1.0.398155699.shtml) But there is some truth in these stories above, the offer is out there the only snag is Vieri's contract.

And as a comment on Maresca, Inter just signed Veron so I don't see it happening that Maresca is going there as well.

Vieri would confirm himself as a man of no honour if he signed for Juve. Having been at Toro and honoured the 50th anniversarry in Granata colours he should show more tact than to consider Juve.

Remember lads even though this has been an appallingly bad season characterised by poor performances and the boardroom shambles:
"Torino e stata e restera Granata"

I guess he already confirmed himself as a man of no honor by playing for Juve in 1996-97.

I intend only to have a bit of fun by winding up the Juve fans it is the players that annoy me they are so mercenary with the pursuit of their own interests.

Many would say their career is short so why not, but he has many offers and many options. It is not important who he played for first or longest or who valued him most for me it is about respecting the fans.

Another example would be Sol Campbell leaving Spurs for Arsenal, some say he had to Arsenal are an amazing team but Spurs raised him and nurtured his talent so like Vieri he should have pursued other options.

Will be very interested in how he plays following a poor world cup.

OUCH! Or you could look at it, like Sol was moving from a minor league club, up to the big leagues...snicker. I can image Spurs fans are still ticked because they boo him viciously every North London Derby at White Hart Lane. I don't blame THFC supporters for feeling betrayed, I would too. He is a great defender and would definately make their defense quite good.
