Thanks for the link. Nice set up by Dema, and nice goal by Freddy. Gald to see all the support for the sport in Rochester. Third lagest crowd ever at Frontier Field. 14,426, a sellout. Granted its Freddy, but still, its good to see those kinds of crowds coming out none the less. Funny, in the post game interview Freddy said "we did not play very well". Isnt that kind of a slap in the face to the Rinos even though they are A-league? It just struck me as funny. I know he didnt mean anything by it at all, but when you think about who they played and beat 2-0.... hehehe.
That movie pisses me off. I clicked on the camera icon and it said "Due to conflicts between Windows Media Player and Netscape 6, Netscape users are unable to watch videos on this site". What a load of sh!t!!!!!!! -Kravi P.S. I'm a Firefox user.
And this is why Freddy is the biggest thing going for soccer in the US. Not because he is the best player. Not because he is going to make us WC champions in 2006. But because he is making it fashionable for tons and tons of kids to play and dream about someday being a professional. And 10-15 years from now, there will be a portion of the 99.9% of kids who play and DONT ever get a sniff of professional play, who will continue supporting the sport with their dollars because of them falling in love with the sport now. The true Adu effect really won't be known until well into the next decade.
I thought Rochester was supposed to have their own soccer stadium that could be suited for MLS - was that a baseball diamond in the middle of the field?
I wasn't using Netscape at all. It is a canned response. I'm using Firefox 0.9 Yeah, I switched default agents. I'm just pissed on principle. -Kravi
that's the kind of free pub that dwarfs the salary freddy is being paid. mls made a good investment here, and the results are immediate and longterm.
Some great buzz for the sport. The kids definitely seemed energized over Freddy. Rochester seems like a great soccer town. New SSS design seems nice, I just hope it will not be a narrow field.
Nice goal, I hope Freddy can get one of those against the Burn...or better yet, the Metros...As far as the long-term effect, the next time Freddy gets subbed in at RFK, instead of mumbling in your beer, look around the stadium at 3000 or so kids, ages 4 to 17, standing up and cheering their new hero- it's really very impressive and heart-warming. Great move by MLS in hiring him.
Most webmasters know that Netscape 6 is the worst thing you can use. Not only does it have this kinda problem, it is slower, is unable to read a lot of DHTML codes, doesn't compensate for simple coding errors, lousy with many table codes, and on and on.. DUMP IT!!
