Its the fight to stay out of the basement!!

The Victory after a long season of struggle have finally found themselves out of the basement of the USL thanks to 1-0-2 record their past three games.

Despite their recent run of good form the Victory are still 8 points out of the final playoff spot. A Victory would be a great way to distance the team from the bottom as well as thrown themselves full force into the playoff race.

The bad news is the Thunder have acquired Tony Sanneh to help out with their defense while he gets in shape to possibly be picked up by the NY Red Bulls later this season.

Here is the USL press release about that:

    Come on you Vics!

Bad news, Thunder played 5 games less than Victory did.
So in theory they can take 15 points more, which would propel them way above us.

Fortunately, though, those games are against Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, and Rochester, so there's a good chance that they won't take sh!t from those games.

In any case it is very important for the Victory to not lose the game at least, but I personally hope that at least Sanchez will be able to repeat his US Open Cup performance.

Game about the start. Without Hansen its Bianchi and Sanchez up top

Interesting to see how that works out.

Chucky Kim is matched against Tony Sanneh. Interesting contrast

    Typical Victory game so far.

Dominate the action, give up an early goal.

    1-0 Thunder 19th minute

Woah, decided to watch the Red Bulls lose, come back and the Vics are up 2-1 on two goals from Yuri Morales.

    Hansen who?

Tony Sanneh subbed out on the 78 minute. Both teams have had efforts on goal

Chandler in for Sanchez 87th minute.

Thunder missed a good chance at a free kick.

Another win off the Thunder. Even more so was they were able to come back and steal 3 points on the road, and mostly widen their gap from last place to 4 points--although the Thunder have played 5 fewer games if I remember correctly.

Gotta tip the hat off to Yuri Morales for the two goals. At this point, it's Josh who?

Now, a chance to get more points when they return home against Puerto Rico. Despite the trade, there are still some games to play for. Better to aim for next-to-last than dead last.

One more--someone on the team needs to make Jakubek a jersey with a real nameplate and number instead of having one colored with a marker and taped! :D

Is there a game being shown at Napper Tandy tonight? I though someone said there was last week, but I cannot find a listing for it.

Wow, the website roster does look pretty grim. Hell, if they need subs, I know a couple good men. Get Peterlin from the Seals out there! Shite. Selling our Player of the Week sucks, but we'll get some money from that, right? I just wish we played Vancouver again so we could boo his ass.

In other news, Yuri Morales is still my hero. If Vics fold, he should go to MLS next season. Same with Eric Reed. He deserves to be in MLS or maybe Europe. He is honestly one of the best goalkeepers I've seen play. I want to help the Vics out in any way I can, but they're not even asking for help. I'll volunteer at matches, I'll help them train, I'll answer phones for the rest of the season. I just want Mike to come on here and tell us what's going on?
