wouldn't it be nice if there was a little off the field rivalry between columbus and LA? heres what i mean: in the 90's i think, the university of michigan and university of tennessee had a little competition i guess on who had the bigger college football stadium. both we expanding their capacity and improving their stadiums. something like this between crew stadium and home depot center would be nothing short of fantastic for the league and fans on their teams.

You weren't kidding about the different angle ... this angle makes Cobi look almost tall! :D

Congrats to the Galaxy as the stadium looks absolutely fantastic. This is truly a centerpiece for soccer in the US.

Sounds like a plan, however there is no question about who has the better stadium.

If you ever get a chance to make it out to LA and check out Victoria St. you will be in awe of the place, I can honestly say that it is comparable to the Staples Center....the place is trully amazing.

When you walk around the locker room area, all those thoughts about MLS not making it completely dissapear.

How far is the roof gonna go over the seats? Some pics make it look like a lot, and some pics dont make it look like much at all.

The same fruit crate that takes the Galaxy to away games?

Almost completely. And before anyone gets bent out of shape, that's in fact pretty standard in stadium w/ roofs that they don't quite completely cover the stands.

As an USMNT fan I'm torn. This would be a great venue to have USMNT games televised from, a great commercial for US Soccer. I bet the atmosphere would be great. However, what steps can/will be taken to ensure a crowd that actually be rooting for the US?

Well those are uncivilized folks with nothing really to live for but their college football. Would I like to see a bigger stadium? Sure, but not to best some Ohio bumpkins.

Not quite the USMNT but still an International friendly.

Galaxy To Host El Salvador vs. Mexico International Friendly on July 6th, at The Home Depot Center.

I'm a supporter of all MLS teams. But Vict. St. is going to make Crew stadium look like a cut out Capn Crunch box.

Cantilevers are really amazing; I still don't get how those braces support themselves. And how will the roof handle the winter snow piling up...?

    Oh. Wait... :)
