Is the area under the scoreboard going to be the US version of terracing?

I was under the impression it was going to be an all-seater. Besides the concrete foundation and roof, its not much different than Crew stadium..

    Looks great though, really does.

It is going to be an all seater and no it is not like Crew Stadium.

The entire facility is going to be very impressive.

    Video on Contacto Deportivo

Just saw some video footage of the stadium while watching Contacto Deportivo Ch. 46 here in Los Angeles.

They covered the final piece of sod being put into place by Cien and Cobi.

    The stadium looks good!

To add my 2 cents on nitpicking,

I just wish the pitch was not so far down from the seats. Appears to be at least a 6 foot wall around the pitch.

Lots of bench seating (in the ends, by the looks of things), didn't realize that. Still, it's nice, now to get a few more of those put up.

You gotta wonder what goes through Cobi's mind when he walks in that place. When he started his career we had no league and NAT games would draw maybe 1-2k people at the most.

Now we have a league that looks like it's here to stay, NAT games draw 10s of thousands of people, and he's going to get to play in an absolutely gorgeous Soccer stadium.

I'm talking individual seating, not bench seating. Did they decide to go with the benches to be able to afford to put the new seats in that one end of the stadium?

Put it like that and it pretty much brings tears to your eyes. If soccer ever does become huge in the US, I think we'll all miss these days when the soccer community is almost a small secret society pulling together.

The Galaxy is probably the team I like the least, but I hope they show everyone of their home games on ESPN as the game of the week.

As a burn fan, what are the odds that Mr. Hunt will get a little bit of stadium envy and try and make the Frisco stadium somewhat comparable to yours?

I can't say for sure, but if I had to guess I would think that Frisco would be closer to the Crew Stadium model than to the Home Depot Center model.

With this being part public and part private financing and this being Lamar's second stadium project I would not expect the bank to be broken here.

No matter though, Frisco will be yours and you will be very happy the day you walk through the gates for the first time.

It's a beautiful stadium, and the Galaxy fans are really lucky to be in there. Hopefully, they'll do some big things.

I'll still make a point when I saw the first pictures. I think it is too laid back. When you go to a sporting event, you want it to be compact, with everyone as close together as possible.

I'll talk about the NHL for a second. The NHL used to be an extremely intense fan experience. It still is in comparison to other American sports, but it has lost a lot of it. A large part of it has to do with the new stadiums (chicago stadium, maple leaf gardens, montreal forum, and other older parks have been torn down). These new stadiums are spacious, you get to sprawl out. In other words, there is very little difference from me being on my Lazy-boy in my room watching the game on TV, and being at the event. The game as a result of these stadiums can't grab you as much, because you arent' forced to watch it. That is why the Wild's Xcel energy center is so succesful. Steep and compact stands (plus a vibrant hockey community) have turned it into the best place to play hockey.

I think future MLS stadium projects should adopt an approach of creating more compact stadiums, with steeper stands that meet the field. They might not be as luxurious, but I think the crowd experience would improve that much more. Just my opinion.

I can't wait to see the first game on national tv. It will be some event.

Thats what i said too. The stadium looks absolutely amazing, but ijust wish that they would've done that. it looks too like the seats are going to be a decent amount of distance away from the feild too. Again, amazing looking stadium though.

Some of you people are truly sick. ANY public complaining about this gem of a place is absolutely perverse. End of discussion.

I was there yesterday and I can tell you first hand walking around in there and seeing the roof and all the other amenities really makes you feel like the stadium was plucked from europe and brought here in addition seeing all the concrete they used only solidifies that soccer is not going to go away that easily.
