Fulham scores in ET on a FK which catches the goalie completely off-guard.

And if you wanna see some of the most "uncareful" celebrations in the age of Covid, watch the sideline right after the goal.

But there's still the 2nd half of ET to go so...

Bryan bags his 2nd goal, and Fulham are on the verge of promotion!

Edit: And the humble Scott Parker overcome with emotion

Man, first Forest crap the bed to lose their playoff spot then Brentford go from possible automatic promotion to missing out AGAIN in the span of 3 weeks. That's gotta suck. Most notable aspect of their stretch is how their team which had set the pace for scoring most of the season just tanked in so many key matches.

I don’t think I understand what happened prior to that free kick.

Mitrović should be sent off, first. But shouldn’t that foul change the game state? I mean, if the ref called the same foul on a defender, wouldn’t he award a free kick in the new spot? What if it was in the box?

I guess this is just an area of the laws that I’m uninformed on, but it seems crazy to me.

How do you know he’s humble?

Yes he probably should've been sent off. He pushed the guy to the floor so hard it looked like he might've gotten a mild concussion. Defo violent conduct in my book.

I don't recall when that push happened in relation to the awarding of the FK, but I remember at the time thinking that a sending off wouldn't have necessarily changed the outcome of that FK/goal. But certinaly the remaining time afterwards, which could've benefited Brentford.

I don't "know" this for sure, and I'm not sure "humble" is exactly the right word. But the point was that he's no Jose Mourinho, not a show-off, pretty reserved guy on the touchline, from what I've seen of him. I get the impression that he's a still-waters-run-deep kind of guy. But anyone who has more knowledge of Scottie should feel free to chime in.

    No way atalanta holds on to all those guys, right? Have a feeling a lot are gonna be playing for mid-level Bundesliga squads in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .

They're mostly kind of old though, so I'm not sure where they'd be getting huge interest from. Like, even though they've been ripping shit up for 2 years, you don't really see any of their names floating around in transfer rumors.

The player that looks like the most attractive prospect at a quick glance is Mario Pasalic, but he was at Atalanta on loan and they're signing him permanently on September 1, so he's not going anywhere. Other than that, it's like...Gosens, who they signed for peanuts three years ago, Hateboer (same story), and Djimitsi (free transfer 4 years ago). They've done a really good job of finding diamonds in the rough and polishing them up. Awesome story.

Atalanta finished 3rd in Serie A too, so they've still got CL money to throw at anyone who wants to leave.

Got spun around a bit on the build up to Joao Felix being brought down (can't recall if it was Klostermann or Halstenberg) but otherwise, yeah, he looked quite good.

I had the game on in the background while I was focusing on other things and didn’t see the build up to that goal. He was late on the replay I saw, but the camera angle wasn’t wide enough to tell whether he had to come off a player he was marking to try to cover his teammate.

Looks like we have a barn burner on our hands today, 1-1 within the first ten minutes and multiple chances both ways.

As a neutral I tend to focus on the players. Yesterday I had the game on in the background because of Upamecano. Today there’s Gnabry and I’ve always liked Goretzka, I was hoping Arsenal would sign him when he was available, but he was just another Bundesliga star that Bayern vacuumed up. And while I’m writing Gnabry scores on an assist by Goretzka.
